I walked into the house and set my bag beside the door. Mom stood in the kitched in fron of the stove preparing dinner. I gave her a smile and made the short trip up the stairs to my room. My room was dark like always, because of the black curtains to make my room theme.
My mind wondered around nothingness while I waited for my lap top to turn on. I logged into tumblr and began my daily routine of scrolling through my dashboard until I was summoned for dinner. I occasionally liked a picture, or reposted a gif I liked. A few hours passed by before I ran out of new feed.
It was only three, nothing to do. I opened a new tab and go onto omegle chat. I let the website find random people to talk to. I skipped through about twenty perverts, a few people from instagram, and about six people who I had a short conversation with. Another hour passed before I found a decent person to talk to.
Stranger- Hey.
You- Hi. How are you today?
Stranger- All right, and you?
You- Okay I guess. I've spent about two hours trying to find someone decent to talk to.
Stranger- Well I'm decent, and I have the ability to type.
You- Looks like one millionth time's a charm
Stranger- Ha. How old are you?
You- 17 year old female
Stranger- 18 year old male
"Willow dinner is ready, come eat!" I sighed and looked back at the computer screen.
You- Well, do you have a kik?
Stranger- Indeed, Mikey123
You- That is so clever it deserves a Grammy
Stranger- Real funny

I grabbed my phone and padded down the stairs. Mom sat across from dad like usual, my spot open with a plate full of food. I took a seat and opened my kik, searching for the boy from omegle. I opened a chat with him and said hi before putting my phone in my pocket.
"How was your day?" Mom asked, taking a bite of her lasagna. I just nodded and took a bite myself. "What does that mean?" I looked up at her and smiled. She knew exactly what I meant. I took a drink of my coke and swallowed. "Well it was the last day so that's good. No more dealing with people I wouldn't mind stabbing with a fork." My father gave me a disapproving look.
"What did you do all day in your room?" Dad said. These were the same questions asked every night at dinner. "Well I logged onto tumblr, then logged off of tumblr hours later." I said, talking like a person when they have to explain the same steps to a child a million times. "Then I got on omegle and talked to some strangers and then I can downstairs." Mom let out a small laugh at my tone.
I only got through half of my food before my phone buzzed. My friend Rachel was calling. "May I be excused?" Mom gave me a small nod and I stood from my place at the table. "Hello?" I smiled to hear her voice. She was the only friend I ever had, from preschool we have been like sisters.
"Do you have any plans tonight?" Rachel asked. I pretended to think about it.
"Mom, can Rachel spend the night?" I looked over to mom who was in the middle of chewing her food. Dad gave me a nod. "Yeah, be here in five?"
"Yeah, see you then." With that she hung up.
Rachel sat on my bed beside me, setting her bag on the floor. "I had to get out of this house, mum was driving me bonkers." I smiled, her mom had always been one to make you mad just by breathing the same air as you. I searched the boy from omegle and sent him a message on kik.
