37. A New Strategy

Dear Diary,

Jeremy and I broke up and I feel like a part of me is missing. I still love him but our relationship is not as strong as before. Between his feelings for Bonnie and the Travelers threatening our lives, I feel like I'm dealing with a lot and this distance from Jeremy will help me put everything in perspective.

Damon and Elena are one step closer to repairing their relationship and I couldn't be happier for my brother. On the other hand, this entire dangerous situation seems to be straining everybody's relationships, including Stefan's friendship with Caroline. Hopefully, we will regain our town and everything can get to normal.

I heard a knock on my bedroom door and when I opened, Damon stormed inside it with a furious expression on his face. "Elena and Stefan are missing." He states.

My eyes locked with his. "What do you mean they're missing? We saw them a few hours ago." I was shocked.

Damon grabbed his phone and handed it to me. "I've been calling them and texting them for the past few hours and they haven't replied." He sighed. "Do you think the Travelers got them?"

I shook my head from side to side. "I have no idea but the witchy twins can help us." Damon lookd at me with suspicion in his blue eyes. "I know it sounds weird but they've been helping us fight the Travelers' plans."

"Do anything in your power to save our brother and Elena." Damon left my bedroom and I looked at the door before turning to the couch.

I dialed a number on my phone and held it to my ear. "Hello, Liv. I need your help. It's urgent so please come to my house before something happens to my brother." I sighed. "Bring Luke and all your magic stuff." I hung up the phone and sat on my bed, hoping they would arrive in time.

I was drinking a glass of scotch when Liv and Luke entered my house. "Nobody ever knocks to get inside this house." I rolled my eyes. "You witches are to blame."

Liv folded her arms over her chest in annoyance and Luke just stared at me. "Why exactly did you call us here?" The blonde witch asked. "I thought you didn't trust us."

I finished my drink and smirked at the twins. "I still don't trust you but Bonnie is dealing with a lot and you're the only witches who actually help me find my brother and Elena. I suspect the Travelers have them."

"Your suspicion is correct." Luke said confirming my ultimate fear.

Liv glared at her brother. "Luke!" She scolded him.

I stepped closer to Liv and glared at her. "If you want my trust, you better tell me everything you know about my brother's disappearance."

Luke stood in front of her sister, fearing I would hurt her. "It's okay, Luke. We have to come clean." She walked to the front of the fireplace and faced me. "The Travelers got to your brother and Elena which means we failed to protect them." She smirked. "But we came up with a new plan and it's unorthodox."

"What's the plan?" I asked impatiently.

"Liv, the plan is dangerous and it will kill a lot of innocent people." Luke cautiously advised his sister.

I lifted Luke by the collar of his shirt and vamped out. "I don't care about other people. I will do whatever it takes to save my brother and my friend. Do you understand that?" He nodded in fear and I put him down.

Liv examined her brother to make sure he was alright and then looked at me. "We want to kill the Travelers that possessed the Mystic Falls residents. Every single person that dies will come back to life if Bonnie is strong enough to hold the Other Side before it collapses. The more people go through her, the better our chances of getting them back."

I nodded in agreement and smiled. "I'm down for that. Damn, I don't even care if I die as long as my family and friends are fine." The twins nodded and I was sure we could pull it off. Now, my priority is to tell Damon about this new strategy.

Damon called Matt and Jeremy to hear the plan the twins came up and I was nervous to see my former boyfriend again. "Just relax, sister! We need their hunting expertise so think about this as a business meeting." He smiled at me in reassurance and then Matt and Jeremy emerged from the door.

Jeremy glanced at me but then turned his attention to my brother. "Why did you call, Damon? We already know Elena is missing."

My brother scoffed in annoyance. "But you don't know is the plan Mia and those creepy twins came up with. It's risky but we have to pull it off."

I nodded. "We're going to trick the Travelers into a gathering and then we're gonna kill them." I smirked. "For that, we need a distraction and Damon came up with a good one."

"Yes." He smiled brightly. "We're gonna use Mia's graduation as an excuse to throw a party at the Grill. That's where you come in." Damon turned to Matt. "Make sure we have the Grill to ourselves. You and all the other humans who are not possessed by the Travelers can't be inside the establishment."

Matt looked confused at the two of us. "Why?"

I glanced at Damon and then looked at Matt and Jeremy. "Because we're gonna explode the Grill with all the Travelers and vampires inside it."

"What?" Jeremy yeled in shock. "Are you insane? That's dangerous and I don't want you to die!"

I smiled at Jeremy. "We're gonna die but we'll be brought back if Bonnie is able to keep the Other Side running before its collapse." I pursed my lips. "If we all get past Bonnie, we'll come back to life but the Travelers' will be stuck in oblivion, kinda like Katherine when she died."

Jeremy shook his head. "I'm not comfortable with this plan and I do not want to be a part of it." He stormed off and I stared at the front door.

Damon glanced at me. "Talk to Little Gilbert and make sure he's on board. We need to set the Grill for our biggest party ever." I nodded and walked outside to catch up to Jeremy. His help was a vital part of the plan and I really needed his support because I was going to die and return to life just like him.
