Snow Maiden

Prologue

They both looked at the bright forest filled with color. It was so contrasting to what was really inside it. And they were going to make other people see it. They had wished all day and night, now it was finally time. And as they watched their wish, The Yarrow darkened the forest. It took all the forests magic and gave it to them. And as it did the once great forest started to fill with despair.

They didn't need the magic or the immortality. Revenge was enough for one's best friend and one's heart. All that they needed in the universe was ripped out of them and this was the compensation. Then they walked hand in hand together facing the centuries of pain and loneliness that's to come.

Later in another place the fairies gathered. It was their fault that it happened but they were not about to take the blame when they alone were not guilty. Most were weeping for themselves as they looked upon their reflection on the sparkling pond. It still had sparkling water. The only refugee that still the darkness hasn't taken over.

"you've come" spoke the soul speaker. She was the nymph of the great tree.

"pay for the sin you did and then

The children of the forest

And a man from the past

Will help you" she spoke a riddle for them.

"A wish shall unmake what a wish had made" spoke the soul speaker as she dashed in to the great tree preparing for a great winter which would last centuries.

As all the nymphs got ready for a long winter the sparking water of the pond darkened. It will only be lightened when Yarrow touched it. It was the pond of wishes.

The fairies were confused but they had no sense as they too were overtaken by a hunger that they never knew they had for flesh.

That's how once a great forest filled with laughter and kindness blessed by the goddesses possessed by the kind spirits turned in to the dark forest.
