{III:14} Left Alone

16 6 8

On nights when the only thing she could do was stare at the moon

Envy the stars and the freedom they had

When all she could do was wish for a miracle

When all her hopes started to dwindle

And all her fears developed to full bloom

On cold, dark nights when the moon shone yellow

And the stars lay, unblinking

She sighed at the weight in her heart

And how she couldn't even wish on a star

She had so many things to do

So many places to see

So many people to love

So many thoughts to free

So many words to say

So many lives to live

Yet, she was trapped

Bound, chained, locked

That only with her heart could she reach out

Only in her mind could she cry out

But no one heard

No one cared

She was Left Alone

The weight in her heart like a stone

Left to stare at the skies

On a cold night void of light

Left to wish on the stars

And watch the moon shine bright.

Tophie's Note

On nights when all you can do is stare at the skies and wonder, when all your hopes just left the silver platter, and there is only one medium of escape. You hear its echo's in your head.
Write, write, write!

You pick up your pen, pour your heart on a paper.. The weight grows smaller with every word, as the ink dries on paper.

In the end, a beautiful piece comes out. The piece holding your secrets, your inner wishes.
And you share it with the world
Hoping there are people out there
People who would understand
People who would relate
To you and your world.
