"Is that him, that kid?"
"Yep, hes the one who set the whole damn house on fire. The firemen said there was a burnt body, no identity."
The two detectives stared through the interrogation window. "Whats the boys name?" Detective Leon said to books.
"Ethan Winters, age 16." Books then started listing off Ethans record " no criminal background, still in school, has a job, two older brothers; Steve Winters(20) and Scott Winters(23)". Silence had continued " has he said anything?"
"Nah,...not yet anyway"
"I'm going in, record anything he says". Detective Leon exited the room.Leon opened the interrogation room, then took a seat. He Examined the boy and his wounds. Some cuts and bruises, but no burn marks, just ash.
"Kid"
The Ethan didn't reply.
"Kid, I'm detective Michael Leon. I know you're Ethan Winters."
Ethan still didnt reply, nor move his position.
" Im here to help you, but I need your cooperation. Can you do that for me?"
Leon tried to sound as gental as possible.
The silence lasted about 3 minutes.
"I didnt want to, he wouldn't let me leave"
The boys voice was soft, but had a sense of fear.
"Who...who wouldn't let you go? Was it that man in the house?"
Ethan's head rose "IS HE HERE!"
"No no, hes gone; there was only bones and some skin." The detective couldn't let him off easy though. "Did you kill that man, Ethan?"
"I....I....yes. I didn't want to,--" then the boy grabbed the detective's hand "-- you believe me right?"
Leon looked in the boys eyes. They were soft...like a doe; a soft brown, yet they were bold.
