"We're gathered here today in memorial of Patrick Kaluf, one of the greatest men to ever walk this earth." The riverine preached. Kassie sobbed as her dead grandfather was lowered into the icy depths of the underground. She had promised herself no more tears, but seeing her once happy, lively grandfather now lying still void of emotion, never to return, she couldn't hold back the onslaught of tears cascading down her face. "Why?" She heard a small voice squeak out from behind her. She spun around coming face to face with Linda. Over the past couple of years her, Lin, and Pedro had become practically part of each other's families. "Gods, Pedro was right. Death is inevitable, but it still doesn't take away the throbbing ache it brings with it." Linda cried as she rushed over to an awaiting Kassie with arms wide open. "He was not only our best friend but our mentor and role model..... and" strangled sobs could be heard through the mic as Pedro tried to force the last few words of her fair well through her throat and into the ears of the trauma stricken family members of the Kaluf family. With one last straggled sob, Pedro rushed off the podium and into the awaiting group hug from Kas and Lin. "He's never coming back...." she mumbled as the three girls tried to make themselves look less grief stricken as Will, Aaron, Karen, and Puddle shuffled into the cemetery. As soon as Will was successfully inside, he rushed over to the girls or more specifically Kassie. Where he tried to comfort her and rid her face of the few stubborn tears that refused to stop flowing. "It's okay to cry" Was the only thing he said as he pulled her into his arms. By that time the rest of the boys had reached them and were awkwardly trying to help the two other girls. As the ceremony came to an end, all four boys were practically dragging the three girls from the gravesite.
