Ten
"Then hurry up! We need to get there before the lines start to pile up!" Mark rushed with such urgency you would think he was going to a Big Bang concert with VIP passes.
I checked my makeup one last time before leaving the bathroom to tend the eager-hearted Mark's request. He's usually a really chill guy but when it comes to the Boardwalk Carnival, he doesn't mess around. Mark and I have been best friends since we were three and there was no doubt that we would stay by each other's side for the rest of our lives. As all best friends do, we had a special tradition and every year for the whole month we would go to the Boardwalk Carnival, and spend the whole day getting high off the adrenaline from roller coasters and old memories.
"Finally, I thought you were dead for a couple minutes there, now put this on and get your ass in the car in two minutes" He chucked a black sweater at my head and left to go start the car.
I checked my hair and makeup once more before leaving the tiny apartment. I rushed into the car to prevent Mark from decapitating me with his own two hands. I buckled up and he slammed on the gas peddle, sending us flying off into the direction of the boardwalk.
"Soljikhi sesanggwa nan Poulin jerk eopseo.." Mark began to rap but I quickly covered his mouth.
"I actually want to be able to enjoy the carnival music and not end up deaf, thank you" I joked and he murmured something into my palm.
I moved my hand away and he pointed to the small group of guys standing in the middle of the parking lot, "Hot and idiotic are the only type I can ever seem to find around here".
"You're only saying they're hot because your idiotic crush you enjoy stalking is there" I point.
"Okay, first of all, he is my soulmate alright, and second of all I do NOT stalk him I just enjoy going to the same places as him and looking at his Instagram 24/7".
"Mark you literally just defined what a stalker does, jeez. Hurry up and park, NOW look who is taking forever" My snarky comment earned a nice punch on the shoulder.
After Mark finally parked we got out and rushed to the line. Luckily we came just before the line rush and there wasn't anyone in line. We went to the booth, paid for our tickets, and entered the carnival whilst squealing.
"Hey maybe we can find yourself a man while we're here" Mark suggested.
"Mark, every hot guy with abs and an angelic voice are straight. There is a one percent chance that I will ever find anyone remotely gay with those qualities".
"Just give it a shoot, maybe you can even turn one of them gay" Mark moved his eyebrows up suggestively and I pushed him away.
We did every ride that looked easy and simple. We didn't want to do the big rides till it was dark out, so when we go on the rides all the cool lights we're on and we could take aesthetics pictures together.
"Ten, please.I don't have enough money to buy cotton candy! I'll buy it tomorrow!" Mark begged and as usual, I gave in and ended up having to get cotton candy by myself.
Mark said it was best he go put the few plushies we won in the car while I get the sugary delight for us. I didn't want to go alone because I felt like people will get the wrong idea and think I came here by myself. I decided to push away those negative thoughts and just get the damn cotton candy, who cares if they think I came alone? I'm a proud lonely single and not ready to mingle. I got into the line and waited for my turn, from the corner of my eye I saw a tall guy with blinding white hair serving cotton candy. I don't know why but I couldn't take my attention away from the Jack Frost boy. He had the perfect smile I had ever seen and a jawline that could cut my dick off and I wouldn't mind, he was perfectly slender and fit too. It was all the qualities I could ever need in a personal appearance wise.
