Chapter 28: The Next One

* Zarion's POV *

For many weeks, I wondered what drove the relationship I had with Birdman away. What had I done wrong? Maybe he wasn't my match. I put my glass of wine on the table & stared at the wall. I should have probably stuck to my routine the whole time, but I fell for him. There was a knock at the door. I walked over to open the door & Ebony walked in.

Ebony: You okay girl?

Zarion: Yeah, I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be? He's just a guy, right?

Ebony: Right.

She closed my door & walked towards me sitting on the couch.

Ebony: You know I had to stop by & check on you.

Zarion: I'm fine!

Ebony: You don't have to hide the emotions.

Zarion: What are you talking about?

Ebony: Anybody sitting in a dark apartment & drinking wine all day obviously has the blues. Look, we know how you were actually falling for him. We know. I know it hurts like hell, we've all been there. Sometimes, we have to face that God may have someone better in our future & some will just make history in the past. That's life.

Zarion: What did I wrong? Was I moving too fast for him?

Ebony: You did nothing wrong. Plus, that's something you'll probably never know. The best thing for you to do is just move the hell on. Some aren't meant to stay in you're life Zarion. Life is meant for losing people & growing as a person.

A tear fell from my eyes & down my cheeks. Ebony was definitely right. She grabbed me for a hug.

Ebony: Besides, whatever happens you'll always have Unknown & those damn gifts he bought including that Ferrari. So who really won?

We started laughing. Unknown was my family & this experience just showed me that some you have temporary people & permanent people. Birdman just happened to be temporary I guess.

2 Weeks Later...

Dancing on the dance floor in the crowd of people. I backed up & bumped right into someone. I turned around to apologize & quickly became attracted. He was slender, chocolate but not too chocolate, pretty smile, & he was dressed nice. I gave the best smile I could.

Zarion: I'm sorry about that.

Guy: That's alright. I'm Omarion.

He flashed that white smile that I quickly had fallen for. Inside it almost made me want to melt. I had to keep my cool though.

Zarion: I'm Zarion.

Omarion: You're from the girl group Unknown right?

Zarion: Yeah. You heard us?

Omarion: A few of you're songs.

Guy #1: Bruh, hurry up.

Guy #2: Yeah, we gotta roll out.

Omarion: Well, I've gotta go. Nice meeting you.

Zarion: Nice meeting you too.

He started to walk off & turned around smiling.

Omarion: You look way better in person from TV.

Zarion: Thanks.

He walked back & handed me a paper with his number on it. I smiled at him.

Omarion: Give me a call sometime.

Guy #2: Come on man!

He ran through the crowd & out the door. I stood there & looked down at the number. I was on the right track.
