I glance at Marinette in the awkward silence.

"Mari?"

She startles and faces me. Her cheeks are flushed and her bluebell eyes meet mine.

I'm melting.

"Yeah?" She mumbles.

"Is something wrong?" I ask putting a hand on her forehead. "Do you have a fever?"

"No!" She blurts suddenly. "I mean, I'm fine."

I raise a brow and smile.

She sighs. "It's just...um...I'm in...your car...and you..."

"I'm...?" I urge her.

"Um...keep staring at me."

"Oh." I chuckle nervously. "I have, huh?"

She giggles nervously. "It's ok. You probably never took anyone besides Nino to school, right?"

"Yeah, sure." I say rubbing the back of my neck. "That's it."

HE PROBABLY WASN'T EVEN STARING AT YOU.

I slouch a little. He was just looking at the buildings or something out the window and went along with what I said to be nice.

"Hey." Adrien says. "We're here."

I snap out of my mind rant and nod. I don't trust the words that could come out of my mouth.

He gets out and slings his bag over his shoulder, flipping his bangs from his emerald eyes.

Sigh.

I slide across the seat as he holds the door open for me. Handsome and courteous. What more can a girl ask for?

He takes my hand in his. My cheeks blaze. His hand is so warm...

I take her hand awkwardly and the first thing I notice is that it's significantly smaller than mine. Softer too.

Her cheeks tint pink and I smile. So cute.

We walk across the patio with our fingers intertwined.

I notice two pairs of glasses sticking out next to the stairs. Nino. And I'm guessing the other one is Alya. I can hear their snickers and camera clicks and I shake my head. Typical.

Marinette seems to notice too and her blush intensifies.

"Hey." I say to her.

She startles. "Yeah?"

"What do you say, we get them back at lunch?"
I smirk and point over towards them. "Ladybugs in their salads?"

She raises a brow. "I see where Chat Noir starts kitty."

"Right back atcha." I point and wink.

She finally relaxes, smiling, and we walk into school together.

"ADRIKIIIIIINS!"

I swear my eardrums almost shattered.

Oh jeez. Alya was an amazing friend but she could be pretty embarrassing sometimes. Especially when she's snapping photos like nobody's business right in front of the school.

NOT TO MENTION ADRIEN.

"Hey." Adrien says turning his head to me.

Oh no. I can tell he saw.

"Yeah?"

A smirk spreads across his face. "What do you say, we get them back at lunch? Ladybugs in their salads?"

A warmth spreads through me. There's the Chat I know and love. Always comes to break the tension. I raise a brow. "I see where Chat Noir starts kitty."

He winks and points a slender finger at me flirtatiously. "Right back atcha."

I smile and we walk into the courtyard.

I hear a high pitched squeal.

"ADRIKIIIIIINS!"

Chloe skips over and sees our clasped hands. A scowl passes over her face, but she shakes it off quickly.

"I missed you, Adrikins~" She whines as she pushes between us and my hand slips from Adrien's.

I stumble backwards before regaining my balance. Ugh.

"Chloe, do you mind?" I ask.

She twirls around and gives me a disgusted look. "What are YOU still doing here, you PEASANT? Go clean a toilet or something."

Adrien shakes his head. "Chloe, I—"

Chloe presses a finger to his lips. "Shhh. We can talk after this...SERVANT leaves." She flicks a hand in my direction, shooing me away like some dog before snuggling up to Adrien.

I snap. This girl could go freaking die in a hole. I walk up to her and plaster on my fakest smile.

"Chloe, I'm not sure if you noticed," I say mock politely, tapping her shoulder. "But I think there's a HUGE cockroach in your hair."

She immediately shoves Adrien away. "WHAAAAT?! NOOOOO! I JUST HAD IT DONE! SABRINA GET IT OOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFF!!!!" She runs screaming to the bathroom.

I smirk with my hands on my hips. Mission accomplished.
