AS I WALK HOME through the cool autumn air, I hear a slight chirping noise coming from a few trees ahead. As I near the tree I see a majestic, bright red cardinal come into view. A small smile makes its way into my face at the gorgeous song echoing through the neighborhood.
Suddenly the bird spreads its wings and takes off into the golden sky. I feel my heart flutter as the bird takes flight, it's feather's wavering in the wind. I am mesmerized and my mind is consumed with the idea of one day flying like the bright, red cardinal.
When I finally manage to gather myself and begin to walk again, I know exactly what I must do.
