Falling for Radke:

Chapter One: Vacation

My name is Jaelynn. I live with my best friends and I am 19 and going to college for pre-law. I plan on go to Graduate School for a master’s degree in law. I’m a fairly normal 22 year old girl, long wavy brown hair, vibrant green eyes, and tanned skin (natural). I loved punk/ rock such as Falling in Reverse. I stayed at my friend’s house and she surprised me with tickets to a concert. We were on summer vacation and I felt I didn’t want to get “prettied up” just for nothing but a concert. I put on my cut off shorts, a sling shoulder tank top with my hot pink and lime green converse. I put a little eyeliner and mascara on and straightened my hair.

“Dang! You don’t dress in fancy clothing, but you look like a hottie!” Marcie said. Marcie was my best friend ever since the third grade. I looked at the beautiful natural blonde haired girl in front of me. She was naturally blonde, pure hazel eyes, and a killer body. I am actually somewhat jealous of her. She could get any guy; I just didn’t go for guys without her help. I smiled at her then we left.

We got to the concert and they let us in right away. The ticket master was a middle aged woman, in most likely her early 40’s. We were waiting for the doors to open when all of a sudden some annoying fan girl screamed.

“OMG! IT’S THEIR TOUR BUS!” I rolled my eyes at her childish ways. I saw Marcie start smiling like a crazy lunatic. I was suspicious of her devilish smile and then I get pushed into something hard. I look up and gasp.

“I’m really sorry, Mr. Radke! My friend pushed me.” I glared at Marcie. Marcie smiles like she won bragging rights and looks up at Ronnie.

“Hahahaha, don’t worry about it sweetheart, I’m glad such a pretty girl bumped into me.  Here’s an idea, would you two like to watch the show from the back? And you can call me Ronnie.” He spoke so smoothly like he had rehearsed the words before- hand. Me being the sane one of Marcie and I, had casually said okay like I had been asked to go to Marcie’s house like when we were younger (and that was quite a lot).  I looked at Marcie who was gaping at the fact that her favorite band had been in front of her asking if her and her best friend wanted to watch the show from backstage.  Ronnie had a killer smile and the guys were looking at us with a curious look on their faces. Ronnie grabbed our hands and pulled us through the gate that leads to the hallway where the dressing rooms are.

“So would you like to tell me your names, or do I have to guess?” Jacky had asked with a smirk on his face which I returned with an evil grin.

“No, you have to guess our names. You get 20 tries for each of us. After 20, we will tell you our names.” I said like I’ve played this name game thousands of times. Jacky gave a hesitant smirk which later turned into an evil grin.

            “20?” He asked feigning innocence.

“Yes, for each of us. You all are able to play, if you’d like!” I said generously. I heard Marcie giggle and then saw her bite her lip. (Something she does when she has a plan) “And your guesses start…NOW!” I exclaimed while we were being sat down in one of the dressing rooms, whom I presumed to be Ronnie’s.

“Stacy, Maria, Ashley, Latifa, Chelsea, Ashlynn, Jaesy, Corinne, Marcie…?” Jacky asked.

“Marcie is her name.” I said pointing to Marcie.

“Okay. Caroline, Grace, Gracie, Laura, Jennifer, Sarah, Serena, Amanda, Melody, Regina, Rebecca, Rachel?” Jacky racked of the names like it was nothing.

“No. None of them are my name. But you did get Marcie’s name right. My name is Jaelynn.” I said matter-of-factly.

“Wow, that’s a really cool name!” Jacky and Ronnie said in unison. I smirked.

“I know.” I said nonchalantly. Marcie was laughing her head off next to me, which naturally made the boys and I burst out laughing except for Jacky and Ronnie who were staring at us like we were on drugs.

The manager came in then, “Boys, start getting ready. Ronnie and Jacky get in Hair and Makeup now, the rest of you, you can do whatever till I call you. You two girls, follow me to the drinks and snacks. I’ll show you girls around.” He said in record time. I smiled to myself. This is an amazing night. I thought to myself.  It isn’t as great when I got a standing ovation for my valedictorian speech at Marcie and my graduation (Marcie was the salutatorian). But we were still ecstatic and happily obliged.

The stage manager took us to right in the center of the back stage where coolers and tables with food were set up. “This is the snacks and drinks section, the bathroom is through that door and the couch is next to the sound booth.” He said that we were welcome to explore the back if we’d like. I just sat down on the couch waiting for the show to start.

“How did this happen, Jae? Marcie asked me genuinely confused.

“I have absolutely no idea, Marce, absolutely no idea.” I said. I was really confused as to how this all happened but it did. To be frank, I’m glad it did. I closed my eyes and heard the guys coming so I opened them again. I smiled as they all piled onto the couch. Ronnie was on my lap and Jacky was on Marcie’s. It was fun watching the show backstage. Marcie and I were acting like absolute idiots when they played their song, (my favorite) The Westerner. The boys came back and dog piled Marcie and I.

“EW, YOU GUYS ARE ALL SWEATY!” I yelled. They laughed and got off. I felt just one body still on top of me. I looked up and saw Ronnie smirking; the last thing I expected to happen was him wiping his armpit on my face. I screamed bloody murder as Marcie and the others were laughing at this little “incident”.  He laughed and got off of me and offered me a hand. I didn’t accept and just laid on the floor.

“Jaelynn, you’re still on the floor hon.” Ronnie said trying not to smile.

“Ronnie, she knows. She just wants to see your reaction.” Marcie said, ruining my fun. I get up and pout at Marcie.

“Kill joy.” I said to Marce. She replied with a smirk.

*********

“Do you guys want to hang out on the bus?” Ronnie asked us. We agreed and we were off to the bus.
