Song of the Chapter: Bulletproof Love, Pierce the Veil

The group landed in Manchester 15 hours later, slowly piling out of the plane and walking towards baggage claim to get luggage and their show gear. Eva stood next to Tony and leaned on him for support as she continued sleeping as best as she could while standing. "E, your bags coming up." She walked up towards the conveyor belt groggily before effortlessly lifting her suitcase up and rolling it back to Tony. They were only waiting for a few more band members' bags. Minutes later, they were walking out and getting into vans to go to the first venue of the Europe run. From the depths of the airport, Eva could hear someone calling her name. Her and the Pierce the Veil boys all looked back like her, searching for the voice. She saw a tall man with almost black hair yelling but she figured it was paps like it always was and kept walking. But, he continued yelling  which scared Eva. "Just keep walking and get to the vans, okay?" Vic whispered, stepping behind her as she sped up a bit and slid into the security of the tinted windows. Vic and the boys kept walking to the van in front of the one she got in.

"What's the line up tonight?" Eva asked, still a little shaky from what just happened. Brendon thought for a second as he got into the car next to her. He stayed behind a bit to see if the man kept yelling. He did. "twenty one pilots, Pierce, FOB, then us tonight and from there it'll rotate so that we go first tomorrow." Eva nodded and watched out the window as they made their way to the venue, still thinking about the man. 'What could he possibly want from me? I'm not the famous one.' She soon shook it off as they walked into the back of the tall, sleek building, slipping the pass over her neck and grabbing Brendon's hand. He looked down to her and smiled before squeezing her hand reassuringly. It helped calm everything down the rest of the way.

A few hours later, with sound checks complete and the songs Eva would join each band for chosen, twenty one pilots got ready to run out. She would first sing the song medley with Tyler, then Hold On 'Til May and Bulletproof Love with Vic, Young Volcanoes with Patrick, and playing after the first few songs with Dallon on bass, singing occasionally whenever Brendon looked at her. It was a pretty good plan and Eva started to look forward to performing. Her acoustic tonight was going to be Voldemort by With Confidence. The night was looking promising.

After a few minutes of Tyler and Josh performing, they ran through the back venue, Eva joining them, and got up on the B stage. "And to sing some old ones, please welcome Miss Eva Urie." Eva smiled and hugged Tyler, giving Josh a fist bump through the drum set as the sounds for Forest started. As usual, the crowd exploded into song, making all three performers smile. As the boys ran back through back stage, Eva hung back and watched the rest of the show. A hand snaked around her shoulders as she looked up and saw Vic with the boys following him. They were due to go on soon since twenty one pilots only had another song before they ended and gear got switched quickly.

"Ready for tonight?" Vic asked Eva, keeping his eyes on Tyler as he gave his speech. Eva nodded, watching the stage too. Vic looked carefully at Eva and could tell she was still thinking about something. "Are you still thinking about that guy from the airport?" Eva looked over to him then quickly back at the ground before sighing. "I can't stop, Vic. What did he want from me?" The older exhaled and slumped his shoulders a bit. "I have no clue, kid. But I'm sure it was nothing." Eva nodded and got handed a mic again for the songs with Pierce. They got a signal to run out, and as they did, each member kissed Eva on the head gently before going on stage. She smiled and watched them perform before Vic brought her out. It got to her part in Hold On 'Til May when she walked out, belting the part happily. After that, Bulletproof Love started, leaving her and Vic to act ridiculous on stage together for one more song. Eva ran off, hearing Vic say "And give it up for our guest, Eva Urie!" echo through the venue. She stood off to the side, looking at the crowd and all of the smiling faces. That is, until one face caught her eye.

In the center of the crowd was the man from the airport, the one who screamed her name endlessly. Maybe he was just a big fan? But, why ask for her? Patrick came up next to Eva, making her jump a bit. "What's wrong kid?" he asked, trying to trace her gaze into the crowd. "That guy from the airport, he's right there in the center of the crowd." Patrick followed Eva's finger to the black-haired man. His face was smug and he seemed like he wasn't there for the show. "I'm sure it's nothing, but I don't know, Pat. Why would he call my name if he was coming to see you guys?" The singer thought for a second. "I'm not sure. I'm going to tell Brendon, okay? Stay here with Pete."

Patrick ran off into the back dressing rooms, finding Brendon almost immediately. "That guy from the airport is here and it's freaking Eva out. Honestly, I'm not keen on it either." Brendon stood up and ran to where Eva was, seeing what the other two already did. "Why would he be here and call for you? You're just a kid," Brendon questioned. "I don't know, but Dad, I have a really bad feeling." Eva's eyes were starting to fill with tears and suddenly everything around her felt unsafe. She knew something bad was going to happen, but she had no way of knowing what; that's what was scaring her most. Brendon kneeled down and tried to rest his hands on her shoulders but she jumped back as her breathing picked up. Pete stood behind Eva, trying to keep her with the circle of musicians and help her not have a full blown anxiety attack.

Brendon again tried to place his hands on her shoulders, this time succeeding. "Sweetie, I know you're scared, but you need to breathe. Everything is going to be perfectly fine. We're going to tell security to keep an eye on him all night and after the concert to see if he tries to get to one of us. You're going to be fine." Eva blinked the tears away but was still subconsciously backing away from the stage. She ran into Pete's legs and jumped back into Brendon. "I promise, we're not letting anything bad happen to you." Eva nodded and blew out a shaky breath right as Pierce came back and the gear was getting switched. "We gotta get ready," Pete said quietly to Patrick. He nodded and hugged Eva, saddened slightly that she still jumped at the touch. "You still want to sing?" Eva thought about it before nodding and hugging the mic to her chest as she tried to catch her breath. Pete gave her a small smile before ruffling her hair and grabbing his bass as he lined up on side stage to head out.

Vic, Mike, and Jaime all approached them, making Eva even more tense. She didn't know why she suddenly felt so scared of all of them; maybe it was because that guy reminded her of her dad for some reason and it reminded her how much she didn't trust most guys anymore. Jaime looked from Eva's eyes up to Brendon. "I'll be right back, okay? Stay here and try to relax before you go out." The girl nodded and sat down on the ground, hugging her knees to her chest as she tried to keep her breath even. The frontman told the three musicians, taking glances back at his daughter every now and then. Jaime walked over to Eva and sat with her as Vic and Mike went to see if Tony was done showering. The two didn't talk, but slowly Eva felt safe with Jaime. He rubbed her back gently and she started to slowly edge towards him on the floor until she was leaning into him. "Why can't I just be normal for one day?" she whispered, hoping he wouldn't hear. He did though.

"Normal is boring and life is terrifying. You're gonna be okay darlin'." Eva smiled a little before standing up and running out to join Patrick. Her whole performance, she couldn't help but meet that man's eyes. She didn't even make a speech, she just ran off and left Patrick to speak. All of the Fall Out Boy guys watched her run off worriedly but tried to push the thought away. She sat back with Tony who had replaced Jaime. He pulled her into his lap and the two sat together for the rest of the boy's set. Soon enough, they ended and Panic! was getting ready. "Good luck, sweetie. You'll be great and try not to worry." Tony said calmly as he hugged her and helped her stand up.

Brendon hugged his daughter to his side as she stood there and waiting to go out. "It's gonna be okay, kid." Eva nodded then ran out with the rest of them, the man's eyes never leaving her.
