"Hmmh. How do you feel, Mr Wake?" a voice shook me up from the good times I recalled earlier. "Any nausea, disorientation, anything like that?" The light shone into my right eye and all I could do was to blink in retaliation. Before I could answer, the same flashback came into my head again, this time filled with events happened a moment ago. About Alice disappearing and men from my nightmares trying to kill me. Nothing came back into my mind about that night and the headache was killing me so much so that I paused for a moment before I replied.

"I’m okay. My head's fine," I replied. I had to lie about my headache and memory loss. He'd send me to the hospital and I couldn't leave without Alice. To ensure that I was really okay, he moved his finger slowly from left to right and left again. My eyes were glued to his fingers, focusing on his fingers.

"Mm. Very well. I don't think you have a concussion, but you'd obviously been through quite a shock," he concluded. "You should take it easy for a couple of days," he turned his back at me as I got down from the table that I was sitting on the whole time without noticing.

"Thanks," I spoke, my face still trying to conceal the pain that was still messing up with my head.

"Well then, Mr Wake. I think we're done here. If the pain gets any worse or you experience any other symptoms, you should come see me," he suggested as he rummaged his bag for something. "I'll let you get on with it. Sarah -- ah, Sheriff Breaker is waiting for you. She's very good at her job. I'm sure she can locate your wife in no time," he assured as I went for the door, leaving for Sheriff Breaker. I looked everywhere as soon as I exited from the room, finding her office only after turning left from the room that I was at earlier. Outside her office, her name was written in big bold words. I knocked on the door before entering.

"Come in, Mr Wake," she called out to me. "Your phone's on the desk. The battery was dead. It's charged now,"  she slowly turned her head to face me, her arms folded. I picked up the phone and a question came out from my mouth immediately.

"Have you started looking for my wife yet?" I asked her.

"My men are already on it," she answered calmly. "Now can you tell me what happened?"

"I'm not sure. I can't remember. We were arguing. I walked out of the cabin," I told her truthfully, giving details about everything I could remember.

"The cabin on Cauldron Lake?" she clarified. I wanted to take back my words but for some reason, I was unable to do so. How could I forget the fact that there was no cabin on Cauldron Lake? I still could not figure out what actually happened but if I told her about the cabin on Cauldron Lake, she might have sent me to a mental hospital. "How did you end up at Stucky's station?" she asked another question again. I wanted to tell her what happened last night but I realised I couldn't. She'd lock me up for killing so many people, including Stucky. Just then, my phone rang. I looked at the phone and instead of the annoying Barry, it was an unknown caller. I was slightly happy from the inside. A perfect excuse for me to get away with being questioned.

"Excuse me. I need to take this," I told her, exiting the room and picking up the call as soon as I left the room. "Hello?" I asked.

"Alan. Please help me," a voice requested calmly and my eyes widened. It was Alice.

"Alice?" I tried to clarify, my voice becoming so soft from this surprise. This surprise turned in a shock for me a few seconds later when another voice was heard throughout the phone.

"Stop talking to the law," the voice threatened. "You'll do exactly what I say if you ever want to see your wife again," I spun round, making sure that nobody was listening to my conversation with this unknown person.
