VALEN

Her light blonde hair falls down her pale skin and rests itself just bellow her shoulders, her doe-like bright blue eyes gleam in the little light that illuminates the small cottage. As you follow your way down past her small button nose, you come across plush, full lips. Any other person would call her beautiful, but when you are her, you can't help but see all her faults.

She's too skinny, too pale, disgusting. Her hair looks almost white, like an old lady's. She has multiple nasty silver scars on the right side of her rib cage. Her wrists and ankles are slightly angled the wrong way from being broken too many times. Her lower back is filled with scared gashes.

I sigh in defeat. No matter how much I want to be like everyone else in the pack, I'll never fit in. Which makes me not want to go even more. After my last pack was slaughtered by the filthy shadows, I was taken hostage. The fucking idiots thought I was the one from the prophesies. Yes, my pack was the strongest in the world, but the prophesy wasn't even supposed to come true for a few hundred more years. I sigh, looking back into the mirror. I stare at myself, I stare at eight years of torture.

Finally, I'm able to rip my eyes away from my reflection and finish getting dressed for the ceremony.

My soft white summer dress flows smoothly down my un-noticeable curves and stops about two inches above my knees. I brush my hair before parting it on the side. I slip on my brown flats and then clasp a small golden necklace around my throat.

I smooth out my dress, trying to come up with a lie so I won't have to go. Nothing comes to my mind.

I sigh once more. How long can I put this off? Not very long I suppose.

Three loud bangs come from my panel of termite food barely hanging onto its hinges. Scratch that, my door is no longer barely hanging onto its hinges. It now lies on the dirt floor in all it's magnificent glory.

I have a tendency to 'forget' to go to these kinds of things, so, A.Alpha Rhegan decided it was necessary to get me my own door banger to remind me of the ceremony.

I scowl up at the werewolf who decided he needed to make me a lovely carpet out my front door. He growls in return, proceeding to the next cottage.

I look around the small square of houses to make sure no one was around before easily picking up my heavy door and leaning it against the wall.

"Who knew an omega could be so strong?"

The sudden voice startles me and I swear, I jump about three feet into the air.

"I-I'm not strong a-a-at all," I mutter brilliantly. "Just a v-v-very l-light door."

I look up to see a very tall figure. Maybe a good foot taller than me? I wonder if it's cold up there. He looks well built in his torso area as well as everywhere else. His dark brown hair hangs effortlessly and graciously above his piercing green eyes. Who knew hair could be so gracious?

"Can you speak without stuttering?" Mister Mount. Everest asks.

"No." I reply.

This seems to amuse him as he lets out a smooth and extremely sexy laugh.

"Anyhoo," seriously? Mount. Everest just said anyhoo? "Are you going to the ceremony?"

Ignoring his question, I ask my own,"Who are you and why are you at my house?"

"I heard a crash and I got worried." He answers. "And you still haven't answered my question."

I scowl. "A.Alpha Rhegan deemed it necessary to assign me a violent reminder for the ceremonies that I seem to forget about." I grumble under my breath, still irritated about my ruined front door.
