Amorphia's room had thick, stale air. In the room there was a soft yellow lightbulb with a glass cage covering the light.
"So, What should I put your four in?" Amorphia said, putting her painted fingernail on her lip in question.
"Jane, I have a Dress that would look well on you. I apologize for my height, It might only be a shirt on you. Just wear your jeans with it."
Amorphia opened her sheer covered wardrobe and pulled out a red, lacy garment. Jane was handed the top and went behind a folding wall.
"Why do we even need to change?" She asked, putting her navy blue sweatshirt on the round table next to the changing area.
"Because," Nadia said, "we are going to one of the most respected beings of the world. And, this being is more a formal minded spirit."
"You know him?" Adela asked.
"Of course I do. Any of the magic folk has meet him at one period of time. He is like the queen in a hive of bees. Everybody knows who he is."
"Nadia," Amorphia said, "what would you want to wear?"
Nadia looked around, as if looking for inspiration in the red walls. Or the cracked plaster in the ceiling.
"Well, what are you wearing?" She said looking to me.
"I think you should just wear something nice." Adela said smiling.
Amorphia stepped onto a stool on the side of the dresser. On the top the pulled out a small shirt with green sleeves. "This was mine when I was your age. The last time it was worn it was 1840 and I was meeting him for the first time."
"Who is he?" I asked.
"The Dominate Warlock of Corurbe. The leader of the magic folk in Corurbe."
Jane walked out of the changing corner. She had put her hair up into a loose bun that stood high on her head. The red dress was in fact a shirt on her. There were no straps to the shirt. Jane put on one of Amorphia's leather jackets over the bright shirt.
"What about you?' She turned towards me. I was wearing gray washed skinny jeans and a AC/DC tee shirt that was given to me at the Villa.
"How do you feel about a--" Amorphia turned around into her closet and pulled out a little black dress. It looked as if it would be a top on me. Amorphia made a shooing sign with her hands. She implied to have me go and change.
As I tried to get the dress on i felt like I was emerging into an ocean. The pressure eating me up until their was nothing left. I looked into the mirror beside me.
I was still there. Most of me was. This was a cap-sleeved tight fitting dress. There was beading at the neckline and on the sleeves. There was a lacy back. It felt as if I wasn't wearing anything at all.
"What kind of party are we going to?" I asked.
"We are just trying to blend in there. We have to. The guys will look nice, too." Amorphia said. I tried to walk out but it seemed harder than before. "Are you sure this fits?" I asked.
"Yeah, you look great." Adela said, when I turned around to see her she had already put herself into full makeup. She was wearing a navy blue tanktop, leather pants, and heeled purple boots. She had on a beaded choker with a set of matching earings.
"Ethel, put on these boots." Amorphia said. She tossed some suede ankle boots with silver embelishings. I sat down on the floor and stuffed my little feet into her shoes. They fit suprisingly well. Better than I had expected.
Amorphia was just wearing what she had on. There really wasn't any reason for her to change.
"We are all done, right?" She said. We all nodded in agreement and went back outside. It took me a couple steps to get formated into my new attire.
Adela opened to door and stepped out into the smooth, clean air. Jane took in a deep breath and held it for a second or two before she let it out.
Only minutes later the boys came out. They all had on dress shirts. Some with their hair spiked, some not. They all had washed the dust out of their eyes and off of their faces. The nicest I've ever seen them all look.
"Are you guys ready?" Amorphia said. They all smiled and Louis gave her a thumbs up.
She opened the door.
