I was on the gravel floor, managing to open my eyes after an... Incident. I don't know what happened, I awoke with a horrendous headache, clutching my head. I turned my head - left to right- and saw a shadow figure reflecting off the forest floor, someone was standing behind me. I forced myself not to look but I was too weak to stand, unable to move. A softening voice came from behind, I could tell she was female but the voice felt very familiar, too familiar. I couldn't keep my eyes open and went back to my slumber once again.
A few hours later, I was in a different location- it was utopian. I couldn't make out any shapes and the colours were blurred - in my condition. I heard two mumbling noises in a distance, they each spoke worried as if something was going to happen or has happened. One of the duo came over, also looking familiar; I had seen her somewhere before, but where? As I got a closer look at her face I felt I knew her, the name was on the tip of my tongue I just couldn't quite catch it. As I started to control my senses, I got a quick blast sending me back into the past.
I was standing with my family, mum; dad; Eloise, when the ground started to shake dramatically. It may sound normal but in my country it was far from normal. Our small town had no litter, no criminals, no danger until the ground started to quake and glass started to shatter. It may of been a minor quake but it felt like the strongest quake there was in my opinion. I felt someone hold onto me and that was when I zoned out from the past and back into the present. "I told you not to do that, now see what happened." One voice said. A voice closer to me replied "She was shaking, I had to do something. She looked petrified."
"What, what happened?" I asked quietly, still weak and that dream had dried up a lot of my energy.
"OMG, she spoke. What do we do Anika?" Said the one holding me, excitedly.
"Shhh, don't give her our names Arianna. Whoops." Anika said, grinding her teeth but rolled her eyes once she recognized she had made a mistake.
"Arianna, why does that name sound so familiar, so does Anika. Do I know you from somewhere ? Where is Anika? I said, confused. I tried to feel around the room but all I felt was the surrounding air.
"Anika is... On my phone, yeah that's it." Arianna said, watching and following Anika's directions on the other side of the room.I turned my head right. There was another figure. "Are you... Anika?" I asked, still seeing things a blur.
"Who wants to know?" Anika replied.
A flash became before my eyes. I was back in a modern home. White walls and wooden planks on the floor. I was standing in the middle of the room leaning over a table reaching for something, but what? I heard a voice "Anika?" A girl, same height as me, came through the front door in a panic, it seemed like she knew me well. "Have you seen the news, paranormal things have happened and a comet came flying in, landing in the local library, destroying everything within a fifty meter radar." I felt something heavy on my hands but I saw nothing. "Hello? Who are you?" I heard a voice in the distance and zoned back out into reality again.
Anika was now behind me, looking at my wavy, light brown hair. "Your hair looks beautiful, remarkably just like mine."
"She is right you know, and that is not the only thing the same..." Arianna said, worried seeing our comparison to each other.
