Chapter 45

A FEW WEEKS LATER

Skylar's POV

I get dressed in a pair of shorts and one of Jeff's shirts it was baggy enough to cover my bump that was forming we had to keep this a secret for as long as we possibly could. I grab my sunglasses then walk down stairs to the living room Jeff walks over and smiles then wraps his arms around my waist he kneels down in front of me then slides up my shirt and kisses over my stomach I close my eyes then run my fingers through his hair. He looks up at me "we get to hear the heartbeat today I'm so excited I can't believe we're having a baby." I smile I was happy but I was also afraid that something would happen we had tried so hard so I was a little cautious and guarded but I didn't want Jeff to know that. I take his hand then we leave the house to go to my doctor's appointment.

Jeff's POV

I sit next to Skylar in a chair while we wait for Dr. Carter to come in I reach over and hold her hand I feel her squeeze mine I lean down and kiss her slowly she kisses back then pulls me closer. I chuckle softly then pull away I sit up when there's a knock on the door the doctor walks in and turns on the ultrasound machine he looks at us "Glad to see you again Mr. and Mrs. Morgan how has filming been going?" Skylar snorts and rolls her eyes "It's hot as hell down here there's no place hotter than Atlanta in August." I grin at her reply I guess the pregnancy hormones were starting to show up luckily for me I knew how to handle my girl. He moves the wand over her stomach I wait nervously then the sound of our baby's heartbeat fills the room I sigh in relief the baby was healthy and I was thankful for that.

Skylar's POV

I close my eyes then lean my head back against the wall once Jeff and I are in the elevator after we leave my doctor's appointment. "Sky?" I open my eyes and look over at him "I'm fine I promise just worried that something will happen we've tried so hard I'm scared." He wraps his arms around my waist then pulls me against him I wrap my arms around him and lay my head on his chest. I close my eyes when he starts rubbing my back he kisses my head "Nothing will happen to you or the baby we are going to be parents to a healthy baby I promise." I nod then relax in his arms hoping he was right. I knew how much Jeff wanted to be a father and I wanted this baby too the elevator doors open and we walk outside to his truck then head to the set.

Norman's POV

I walk out of wardrobe then meet Jeff outside his trailer I look at him "how's the baby?" he grins then pulls something out of Negan's leather jacket I take it and look down he had an ultrasound picture. I run my eyes over it I couldn't believe this was my god child everything looked good in the picture "what was the heartbeat?" he runs his fingers over the picture "One sixty-seven the doctor says everything looks good he doesn't expect any problems he thinks it will be a smooth pregnancy." That was a relief. I knew this wasn't going to stop them from worry though Jeff might seem confident but I knew Skylar they wouldn't relax until she had the baby. I just hoped she wasn't stressing herself out too much because it wasn't good for her or the baby.
