Chapter 6

~PHIL'S POV~

I woke up before Dan, his small frame still surrounded by my arms, laying on my chest.

I moved my arms, using one to put on my glasses, and the other to quietly play with Dan's hair.

I looked at the time on the clock: 8:30 am.

I grabbed my phone from my bag and sent an e-mail to Dan and I's teacher's, letting them know what's going on.

I continued playing with Dan's hair until he woke up, turning slightly to face me.

"Good morning, Sleeping Beauty. Did you sleep well?"

"It was ok. What time is it?"

"It's 9:30. They were gonna bring you breakfast, but you get out this morning, so I figured I could take us somewhere. What do you think?"

"Shouldn't you be in school right now, Phil? You can't skip school for me."

"I e-mailed all our teachers. They are aware of the situation and will give us our homework on Monday. We have a Friday to ourselves! I also found out my family will be gone this weekend, so if you want to, you can come stay at mine. What do you think?"

Dan was quietly nodding, but I could see the excitement in his eyes. "When do I get out? I'm so hungry."

I laughed, placing a soft kiss on Dan' s head. "Soon. I promise. I looked at the size of your clothes, and went and got you the same ones. So you don't have to wear the old ones."

Dan smiled at me, kissing me suddenly.

I gasped in response but suddenly kissed back.

I kept my eyes open, watching his eyes struggle to stay closed, then they fluttered open, meeting mine.

He softly bit my lip, and as I was about to do the same, he pulled away from me, smiling.

Dan's stomach growled, causing me to giggle quietly.

Soon enough, Dan's doctor walked in, smiling.

"Dan, you can get dressed, you will be released in 10 minutes. You have an amazing boy by your side. He never left that waiting room, and could barely let go of you when you got here. Take care of him."

I blushed, watching Dan's movements very carefully.

He nodded, grabbed his clothes and went to change.

Before the doctor walked away, he looked at me, and said, " Phil, take care of him. I can tell you two love each other, which is really hard to find. If you're not careful, he can slip right through, and something like this can happen. Be authentically you, and don't let anyone change that. I can tell you and Dan are both really amazing people. Don't change that."

I nodded and smiled. He then walked away, and I waited for Dan to finish getting changed.

He came out shortly, looking perfect.

"Ready to leave?" I asked, giving him his bag.

He nodded, kissing my cheek.

We walked out and went to the table.

We signed him out, then walked out of the hospital.

We walked to a little cafe not far and looked at every option on the menu and drooled.

"Hi my name is Matt and I will be your server today! What can I get you two to drink?" His voice was very chipper, and excited, but you could tell he was exhausted.
