"Hush."

His whispered words stained the skin on my neck. I smiled in pleasure with his body so close, ribs piercing into my stomach and heat from his shirtless body covering my right side like a blanket.  His eyes slowly blinked multiple times at the same rate before he finally closed them, allowing his muscles to relax as he drifted into a comfortable sleep. His breath burned my shoulder, causing the goosebumps to slowly fade. How beautiful. I ran my fingers through his hair as he did to mine earlier, the rain that stomped on the roof and against the walls now sounding like a lullaby more than bad weather. A smooth and delicate rhythm played on repeat over the rain, now noticing that the neighbors wished to listen to music in the middle of the night. I turned over so I was facing his forehead, his head now falling to my collarbone as he curled up in a childish fashion. My chest tightened as I closed my eyes to attempt making this moment longer than it actually was. To my suprise, he opened his eyes a few minutes later, a sign that he was indeed just making an excuse to cuddle instead of actually being tired. As much as I wanted to hold back my laughter, it seemed to escape from my throat and out of the gaps of my teeth. The rain picked up its pace until it overtook the soothing beat of the music next door. I put my arm over his waist, digging my bitten nails into his boney back and laying my chin on the top of his head that was filled with dark, curly hair. I inhaled the scent, exhaling as I opened my mouth.

 "I love you."
