Chapter Six: checking exits and finding enemies

I woke to the sound of an automobile engine and the softness of my stuffed teddy. I sat up and saw the license plates of the cars leaving the garage. I smoothed my head of crazy hair and shoved it into my hat. I pulled my last clean and intact shirt and headed to the kitchen.

I found the kitchen a little worse for wear. Bread crumbs and spilled liquid mixed together and covered portions of a small counter. On a lone plate sat a sandwich and a note. I picked up the note and the plate then sat down at a small table behind me. I read the note while eating it.

"Made sure to swear Pyro's silence. -P&E"

I smiled and took another bite. I chewed and before swallowing, I heard an explosion, knocking some bottles over in the kitchen. I swallowed and set my half eaten sandwich down. Time to see what the heck that was.

I walked down the connecting hallway to the garage, only to find it blocked by a large grey metal something. I pushed it to the side to see it was the metal garage door, forcibly blown off its tracks and flung against the opposite wall. Two figures stood in the center of the Red logo on the Garage floor.

The two figures belonged to the rest of the offensive title of the Blu Team, Soldier and Pyro. I see them debating something, but I couldn't make i out due to the sound of the fire alarm going off in the garage. I doubled back to the kitchen, in search of a weapon to defend myself and the base from harm. "What am I doing?" I thought to myself as I raced around the kitchen to find anything not dull or too heavy.

I find baking tins, some short knives, and a large black skillet made of cast iron. The skillet was well made but loud when I bumped it against things. I wrestled it from the cabinet and went back to the garage. I found them splitting off from another. Pyro going to the left while Soldier when right.

I didn't like the thought of fighting either of them close range, but I could take less risk with the soldier. I moved the wall of mangled metal aside as quietly as I could and headed back to my ledge. I grabbed my plushie and stuffed the loose bear in my back pocket.

I stealthily made my way back down and followed the soldier. He slowly walked, hindered by the weight of the modified rocket launcher. He checked every room, Bathroom, sleeping quarters, even the planning room(which I hadn't seen yet), but with every slam of the door of the room he just searched, he grumbled and continued on. He continued his search while I snuck up behind him. I raised the cast iron pan above my head and stuck his skull with the weight. He dropped, hard. His chin hit the floor before his e-tool did.

I moved his rocked launcher and his secondary as I tied him up with some spare rope from the closet five doors down. I moved him to the main room of the garage and gagged him to make sure he didn't alert pyro. I tried to drag him further than the garage, but he woke back up and struggled against me.

"Please, don't make me hit you again, sir." I pulled on the restraints. He growled a harsh response, and I hit him again. He went limp. I moved his weapons to the side garage door. The RPG, the E-tool, and a knapsack with an emblem. I tied one end of the rope to a heavy crate and tried to make sure he didn't have any lasting injures.

Once satisfied I didn't kill him, I left the soldier tied up and hunted for the pyro, but I didn't waste much time there. I found the Blu pyro burning pictures into the walls near the stars to the higher section of the base.  At first, I didn't think anything about going up to him and asking him to leave, but I remembered what Pyro did after I had asked him not to tell anyone. I decided to approach carefully. I tapped on his shoulder.

He flinched and grabbed his flame thrower, but I yipped like a scared dog and jumped back. I waited for him to laugh and let loose flames, but none came. I looked back to him to find him burning more pictures into the wall.
