19th June 2013.

Early hours of this morning our archaeological team arrived in Cairo. We hope to find some ancient Egyptian extracts during our visit (if myself and the team can stand the heat out here!). We all arrived here safely after a long 4 and a half hour flight. Tonight we plan to camp out not far from the famous pyramids. Our night time location for the next five days will be El Zaharaa (relatively close to the site we plan to do some excavation work). Our five team members include: Alex Corners , Darren White , Tom O'brien, Sally Winters and myself (Elizabeth Doors).Over the next five days I plan to keep everyone informed and up to date on our project (via the Internet) through our infamous blog and live pod-casts. All our love to our families and loyal donators and fan's who without you this wouldn't be possible. We will notify you all of our findings same time and place tomorrow.

20th June 2013.

It's unbelievably hot out here! Today we saw the famous pyramids which are fantastically built and we have met some local such as Aswad and his wife Bahiti. They were both colourful characters and shared ancient ghost stories and Egyptian myths with all of us. It was all going so well until Tom (as always) got a bit freaked out and rushed off back to the tents with Sally leaving Alex, Darren and myself in a local bar with Aswad and Bahiti. We asked Aswad his opinion on whether us "amateur" archaeologists would find anything worthwhile out here which to our disappointment was a rather negative one. Tomorrow we start our digging (and our route to proving Aswad wrong!). As you probably guessed there has been a little tension in the team today as the heat has probably got to everyone but a good-nights sleep should ease off the tension a bit. Everything is showered with sand including our sleeping bags much to everybody's sadness. It's now around 11.37 pm (BST) so if your up reading this you probably can't sleep either. One thing I may note down here though is that I can hear children playing and laughing right outside the tent and their shadows flickering with the torch light. So, we've agreed one of us must stay guard in case of thieves e.t.c so we take 3 hour shifts. It's just the end of my shift now so I'm off to wake-up Tom and go to sleep. Goodnight everyone this may come across!

  21st June 2013.

Good mornin' all.  The time is 5.45 am (BST) and we have been up since 4 am thanks to a group of children who thought it would be a fun idea to pelt small cobble stones at our tent consistently for an hour. Darren (and the boys) were "too tired" to go outside and tell the kids to sod off. We all know they were just too scared. So we are of to do some digging and research until about 12.30pm (BST). Will update y'all later on.

10.42 pm

We just got back to our tent now after an eventful day in cultural Cairo to find our tent torn to shreds and our sleeping bags outside the tent. Alex and Sally checked through everything and nothing is missing which is really strange we have two small back-up tents so we are splitting the team into the two tents (Tom,Darren and Myself in the first tent and Alex and Sally in the second tent.). We suspect the children were the culprits behind our tent damage and Tom and Alex plan to warn them away if they return tonight. Today we met Aswad again and told him about the children he said that we should leave there immediately and stay in a hotel or hostel which doesn't sound like a too bad idea if the children continue making a nuisance of themselves. On the plus side Sally found this really interesting clay pot during the dig which we plan to analyse back in the lab at home and we are all having a fantastic time.

22nd June 2013.

The time is about 3.30 (BST) and I think I just heard screaming from Sally's tent,Tom heard it too and Darren is still asleep and right now I'm kind of panicking because we don't know what to do. Tom said for me to stay in the tent and he'll go check it out.I saw Tom grab his swiss army knife from His bag and he's been gone now for about a minute and I can't hear anything! I'm really scared. I'll try and write again in 5-10 minutes if you don't hear from me soon get the authorities please !

3.37pm.

Tom's came back. we need to take Alex to the hospital it looks like he's been bitten by a dog. Sally said she could hear the children and saw a black figure in the room lunge at Alex. I've phoned an ambulance which should arrive any moment now.  Darren is trying to book us a room for the night so far no luck! The rest of us are fine just a bit shaken up! should write again a little later tonight to let you all know how we are.

10.23pm.

Darren failed at getting us a room. Only one of us can stay at the hospital with Alex. We agreed Sally should stay with him whilst Tom, Darren and me go room hunting. I'll write to you all later and let you all know how we all are. Goodnight everyone.

23rd June 2013.

Darren wasn't lying when he said there was no rooms, We asked in every hostel, hotel and B&B we possibly could. We spent the night at our good friend Aswar's small home. He said we were welcome whenever. We don't want to take advantage of his hospitallity and kindness so tonight we plan to sleep back in the tent. Aswar said he will check in on all of us tomorrow. Sally called and the hospital are planning to operate on Alex's tommorow morning so she's staying with Alex in the hospital for at least tonight. I have a bad feeling about this. I'll talk to y'all later and shall keep you posted.

11.32pm.

No problems so far tonight I'm just finishing my shift as Darren volunteered to take over from me (thanks sooo much Darren). Sweet dreams x

25th June 2013.

7.27pm

I just got up, my phone is missing and Tom's head bleeding and he can hardly respond and Darren's just not waking up. Something seriously is wrong. Aswad woke me up moment's ago and we are really worried. Aswad has just called to some of the locals who are coming in bundles right now. There is a big red X on the wall painted on with what seems to be blood. Please please help me!
