Despite having been friends for a long time now, they had met so many years ago it almost seemed like an eternity, Dexter found himself surprised by this turn of events he had walked into. Sure it seemed like he had known the angel for always, like they had never been strangers before meeting for the first time. It spoke volumes of how deeply Dexter Gray trusted this man, he would easily say he trusted in Achan more than he trusted in anyone else. The angel had always been there to offer support if Dexter was ever to need it. The angel had never given him any reason for distrust, Achan was reliable on anything Dexter needed. And Dexter did his best to repay the favours and help the angel had ever given him. Yet, he was still surprised by the fact the angel was on his front yard as he parked his car. Usually they called, or they spoke in the bar they so often frequented in, it wasn't normal for the angel to come by unannounced, Achan always sent at least a text message before appearing onto his porch. This was alarming, and the redhead didn't step out of his car until he had scanned the area with his eyes, no one else seemed to be hiding in the bushes so it seemed fine.
And he trusted in the judgement of Lucifer, the puppy bounced out of the back seat of his car as soon as the door was opened, going straight for some love from the warrior angel sitting on his porch steps. The blonde was quick to pet the puppy, he knew Lucifer needed his share of love, just like most of the animals. Lucifer deserved some pets after dealing with Dexter all day long.
"What's going on?"
Dexter didn't spend time with small talk, straight up into business just like Achan had always come to know - he respected the trait, he in return could trust in the human, knowing the man didn't do bullshitting around, didn't do beating around the bush, Dexter was painfully honest, whether Achan liked it or not. It was one of the traits why so many other creatures, human or not, seemed to give the hunter their respect.
The angel pulled his hand back from the puppy, motioning for the door into the house, they should speak of his matters inside, not out here where anyone could be eavesdropping. Dexter got the message, grumbling something under his breathe as he headed for the door, letting them in and lighting up a cigarette as soon as the door was closed, Achan never understood how the man could smoke inside but then again, there was many things he didn't understand about humans or the hunter, so he didn't bother his pretty head with it.
"Uriel around?" Dexter didn't really look too surprised by the question and shook his head as a no for the angel; "catching up on some work for as much as I know", for once - Achan couldn't help but snort at the words as well with his thoughts, Uriel didn't do work, ever, if the man could choose it. So he was pretty sure the elder angel was somewhere slacking off without telling anyone, Achan was even tempted on setting Gabriel up on the man's trail, just to be a pain in the ass for his elder. Living a life was not fun if you couldn't do some harm on your elders, and seraphim were a bit too far away from his reach.
"We're in troubles", Achan spoke again and oh that gave him a frown, but considering how much they had done together even during Dexter's limited time in the human world he wasn't too surprised they were in troubles, they were in troubles often. It came with the whole hunting demons and Achan having Zuriel as an arch enemy thing.
"When wouldn't we be in troubles?!" Dexter almost threw his hands into the air out of frustration, he didn't need to be told they had pissed off wrong people or had some demon coming for vengeance on their tail, but instead he headed into the kitchen to get some coffee brewing, Achan followed him close by, muttering some curses in English, the hunter wasn't taking this serious enough, maybe Uriel around would've been a good thing after all, if the angel wasn't too protective and butting into things that didn't belong to him, oh and not being trustworthy was one big issue as well.
