A New Start

Give me strength

Winry began to stir shielding her eyes from the sun creeping in through the crack in her curtains.
She jolted feeling something move against her and silky hair glide across her belly.
She quickly glanced down at the person.
'Edward...?'
'What is he doing in here??'
'And....naked???'
'Did he...? Did we....?'
'No. No way.' She laughed.
She sat up then Edward put his arm around her waist and he opened his eyes.
Winry flinched.
"E-Edward...?"
He only groaned and pulled at her to lay back down.
"E-Ed, w-why are you naked?" She dumbly asked, but only to confirm for herself.
He didn't answer just looked at her with those fiery eyes like before.
She looked down at herself noticing she too was naked as well.
Winry's blush only deepened further.
Edward sat up suddenly letting the sheets fall exposing himself.
Then Winry saw it.
'Is that....'
"OH MY GOD!! EDWARD PUT IT AWAY!!!"
Winry screamed dramatically thrashing her arms about and trying to shield her eyes.
After a few moments she opened her eyes peeking through her fingers and blinked twice.
She rubbed her eyes.
"Oh. It was a dream...haha."

Breakfast time~

"Is it really true?!"
Winry overheard Edward exclaim in excitement from downstairs.
"That's great! I can't wait to see you!"
He continued. Winry raised an eyebrow and peeked her head out in curiosity from up a few steps still out of full view.
"Okay. See you soon then, bye." Edward hung up the phone still with a grin on his face.
Winry then came down the rest of the steps and joined the two in the kitchen.
"What's all that about?" Winry asked grabbing a mug from the cabinet. Edward turned his head immediately.
"Al is coming to visit us!"
Winry smiles brightly and tears nearly came out of her eyes. "Wow really?? I can't believe it! I can't wait to see him! It's been a long time!" She beamed cupping her cheeks in her hands.
"Yeah! I can't wait to hear about his travels!"
Edward sat down giddily at the table in front of the plate Pinako had fixed for him.
"Do you know if he's bringing Mei with him?" Winry asked hopefully setting her mug of coffee down next to her plate across from him.
Ed got quiet for awhile.
"Ed...?"
"Yeah she's comin'." He mumbled sipping his juice. She giggled at him. "Wouldn't you rather have some coffee with that?" She smirked knowingly.
"I could have some yeah..." he grumbled.
"Is there any other specific reason?" He asked reaching for the kettle. Winry took a bite of her eggs and chewed for a moment.
"You just came back yesterday, and your leg needs maintenance Ed." She explained entwining her fingers together and rested her chin on top of them with a wide grin.
Edward frowned and dropped the kettle back on the table startling Pinako on the couch.
It didn't spill. Just easily settled back into place after swirling a few times.
"Edward what's wrong?" Pinako asked setting her newspaper down.
They couldn't see his expression with his bangs covering his face.
Winry already knew what was up and continued to finish her plate of breakfast. He groaned and rested his head and arms on the table and pouted, so Winry spoke up.
"He's afraid it's going to hurt because it's been a long time. And he knows he didn't take good care of his leg when he was away like I told him. So now, he's really going to regret that." She laughed and continued, "so maybe this time he'll remember this and actually listen to me for next time. I don't nag about it for no reason Ed. It's for your own sake." She grinned wickedly and picked up her plate to wash.
Pinako just shook her head chuckling.

Once Winry was done brushing her teeth after breakfast she got changed into her usual work attire : a clean new tube top and baggy jumpsuit. She purchased her new set sometime after Edward had left. She thought it was time for a new one. The old suit was starting to tear and old spots just never came out, even after she tried hand scrubbing them. Her new top was a crimson red with a black stripe down the middle of it. And the new suit was a dark grey color with silver zippers. It was badass.
Her whole look was dark and flashy and she loved it.
Winry admired herself in her new fit and stepped out of her room to meet Edward downstairs to get the maintenance started.
Ed was sweating bullets and nervously snapped his head up when Winry came into the room. His jaw immediately dropped in awe of her new ensemble.
"W-when'd you get that Winry?" He started to squirm in his seat and began to squeeze the leather in his palm.
Winry stepped further into the room and noticed his tense behavior. She eyed him before speaking.
"Hm...can't remember when..." she answered hesitantly, picking up a case of auto mail from underneath her working table. She knew Ed and his sly ego, knowing he'd get a big head over when she actually bought it.
"So then, let's get started shall we?"
Winry turned around with a big grin on her face and he audibly gulped.
"Now let's see..."
Winry bent down and sat cross legged in front of him examining both of his legs.
She firmly pressed on his knees and looked for a height difference she knew might be there. Then she scooted to his right side. "Stretch your legs now."
He complied and stretched them out and let her look.
"Yep."
Ed flinched.
"Yep, what?"
Winry frowned at him.
"How can you not see the problem...?" She laughed.
"You know I'm going to have to remove the whole thing right?"
Ed's eyes rolled to the back of his head and he was out.
"Well that saves me time knocking you out."
She grabbed her wrench and screwdriver and began to get to work.
