Chapter 5

Valerie's POV
Jay's gonna know the secret. In fact, he probably already knows. I just can't seem to wrap my mind around it. He actually knows. 

Once I reached the firehouse, I headed in towards Matt's office. I knocked on the door before he gestured me in.

"Hey Val what's up?" said Matt going through his papers

I rolled down all of the blinds and then sat on the end of the bed quietly watching his every move.

"Is everything okay?" Matt asked

I nodded my head trying to hold back my tears.

"Then why are you so quiet?" he asked

I shrugged my shoulders.

"Valerie, are you sure everything's okay? You know you can talk to me about anything. I'm here for you" he said setting down his papers

"I..." I said before breaking down into tears

"Hey hey, it's alright. Just tell me what happened" Matt said coming over and holding me tight as I cried in his arms

"He...knows..." I said in between sobs

"Who knows what?"

"Jay. He knows about the baby. I knew I should've erased the video when I had the chance"

"Shh...everything will be alright. We'll figure this out"

I break down even more before I heard a knock on the door. Matt grabs the box of tissues on his desk and gave it to me before opening the door. It was Jay. I turned and faced away from the door.

"Jay, right now is not a good time" said Matt

"Matt, I know everything. Please let me talk to her" said Jay

"She's not ready to talk to you" said Matt

"Please I'm begging you. Let me talk to her. Give me 5 minutes" said Jay

Matt looks over at me before turning back to Jay "take as much time as you need. But remember, if you hurt her in some way I'm coming for you"

Matt leaves the room and Jay comes in closing the door behind him. He comes and sits beside me. He tries to grab my hand but I pull it away.

"You have nothing to say right?" I said wiping my tears

"I'm still in shock" said Jay

"Well now you know" I said before getting up heading for the door but Jay pulls me back and holds me tightly which causes me to break down even more

"I'm so sorry Valerie" Jay says while holding me

"She...was...so...little" I said in between sobs

"I wish I knew sooner. I wish I could've been there for you instead of cheating on you.  I'm such a fuck up" said Jay

"It hurts so much.  The pain just doesn't go away.  I held her in my arms" I cried

"Shh...shh... it's alright. Everything is alright. I'm right here" Jay said

"Just take me home please" I said

"You know it's gonna have to be back at my place" Jay said

"Whatever. I just want to sleep" I said

We both got up and headed out of the office. We started to make our way out of the fire house when we came face to face to a masked gunman.

"Not so fast you two" said the gunman
