3. Irresistible Smile

The town was full of colorful stalls showcasing different kinds of food and things useful for cultivation.

It was a special event and was only celebrated once a year where many people gathered to have fun and meet new friends, "The Festivities of the Four Elements."

Heng Guiying invited his friend, Yu Zeng to join this year's 'The Festivities of the Four Elements.

"Why do you want me to go with you?" Yu Zeng coldly asked Guiying.

"I want you to enjoy and loosen up. You are always serious about cultivating and you have no time to play. I often saw you practicing cultivation by the shore." Heng Guiying said.

Yu Zeng just continued walking and didn't mind Heng Guiying.

When they reached the town, Heng Guiying immediately noticed a commotion among a group of people. They walked closer to find out what was happening.

They caught sight of a beautiful lady fighting against a man, fire against the wind. The owners of the stalls near them were doing their best to stop the fight but they couldn't.

The lady summoned her fire element and a majestic looking phoenix flew towards the man, the onlookers were amazed by how magnificent and large the phoenix was, before the phoenix could attack the man, a large water dragon went against the fire phoenix and put it off, some of its water scattered in a different direction, as a result, the people nearby got wet.

"You! Why did you do that?" The beautiful lady glared at Yu Zeng.

Yu Zeng just raised his left eyebrow while studying the features of the lady in front of him. The lady got angrier because Yu Zeng just stared at her, so, Heng Guiying immediately went between them.

"He just did that to stop the fight." Heng Guiying tried to defend his friend. The lady was stunned upon seeing Heng Guiying. She couldn't believe that such a handsome man exist. All her anger disappeared.

Tonight is the night! The protagonist and I (Yu Zeng) will meet the heroine in town. The protagonist will meet the heroine in a commotion among the crowd. I wonder if I can also summon a water dragon and fight the fire phoenix.

Yu Zeng wondered if like the original Yu Zeng, he could also control water efficiently. He looked around the room and saw a pitcher of water on the table near the window. He concentrated and tried to control the water inside it. He successfully controlled the water inside the pitcher and was able to gather it in midair, he summoned it to come closer to him. When he was about to form it into a water dragon, it suddenly burst in front of him, soaking his clothes. Just then, the door of the room opened revealing a shocked Wei Shun holding a tray of food.

Yu Zeng couldn't help but feel embarrassed by what happened.

"The weather is too hot. I decided to splash some water on my face." Yu Zeng nervously laughed.

"..." Wei Shun just stared at him awkwardly and didn't know what to say.

"Ah, you can place the tray on the table. Thank you and kindly get another plate." Yu Zeng smiled at the child.

Wei Shun placed the tray filled with different kinds of delicious food for lunch on the table near the window. There were bird's nest soup, pickled vegetables, garlic rice, and dumplings.

Wei Shun took the empty pitcher to fill it with water and went out to get a plate. Yu Zeng helplessly looked at the water on the floor and he decided to change his clothes.

After a few minutes, Wei Shun came back carrying a plate and the pitcher filled with water.

"Big brother, please enjoy the food." Wei Shun smiled at Yu Zeng while placing the plate and the pitcher on the table.

Yu Zeng who was already sitting was excited to eat the dishes in front of him. He never thought that he could eat these sumptuous dishes again. Before transmigrating into his favorite novel, he had two part-time jobs but it could barely sustain his needs and he couldn't always eat the food that he liked.

"Thank you Wei Shun. Please join me." Yu Zeng invited Wei Shun.

The child nodded and reluctantly sat across Yu Zeng.

"Thank you, big brother." The child shyly smiled. Why is big brother so kind today? He never invited me to eat together with him.

Yu Zeng started eating and couldn't help but close his eyes and feel the taste of the food.

Because he was too immersed in eating, he didn't notice that another person had entered the room. Just as he was about to eat the last piece of dumpling on his plate, he felt someone looking at him and he saw a figure standing near the door folding his arms against his chest. Their eyes met.

Fair skin, high nose, and long black silky hair.

"Seems like you are enjoying your food today more than usual." The man smiled at him coolly.

"Brother Guiying." Wei Shun politely greeted the other person.

Yu Zeng seemed struck by multiple stars and froze in place. Guiying? Heng Guiying? The protagonist!!!

The protagonist walked towards him and was about to pick the last piece of dumpling when Yu Zeng hurriedly picked it using his chopsticks and ate it.

"It's delicious." Yu Zeng smiled widely.

"..." The protagonist and Wei Shun looked at him in disbelief.

"Ah, Guiying! Why are you here?" Yu Zeng asked after drinking water. He couldn't hide the smile on his lips, showing his dimples.

"Ah...We are going to town. Remember...?" The protagonist couldn't help but be entranced by Yu Zeng's smile. Just when did this friend of mine, learn how to smile? Guiying thought.

What caught his attention was a stick of strawberries glazed in crispy brown sugar. He tried picking it but was surprised when another hand was also holding the stick. He didn't let go of the stick, as well as the other person. He lifted his head and he saw a tall man wearing a mask covering the lower half of his face, only his eyebrows and golden eyes could be seen.

Mask? Long hair? Golden Eyes? The villain? The villain? Seriously?
