"How long do you have, Carson?" My mom asks grabbing my wrist.

I pull away and I pull my sleeves down. "Three months."

"Three?" She asks in disbelief.

My dad sat across from me. I look at the numbers on his arm. Zero's.

"Usually at this age you should have met them by now." My dad says.

"All my friends have I said." I say. "It's weird."

I live in a universe where you knew what time in your life you would meet your one true love. It was in my skin. I had three months. And I wasn't looking forward to it. They say you won't need to look at your number the day you meet the one you love. My dad told me the day he met my mom he felt the numbers stop. Everyone says that once you meet the one you love you're never attracted to anybody else.

"I'm going to school." I say getting up.

"Have a good day, love." My dad smiles.

I give him a hug a long with my mom and I set off down the street.

"I mean look how cool it is." My friend Sage says as we were walking back home from school. "Zero's have never looked any hotter."

"And where did you two meet again?" I ask.

"At the concert in the weekend." He said. "She's so hot."

I roll my eyes as we continue to walk down the street.

"Are you okay?" He asks. "You seem off."

"Yes." I say. "When you met her, how did you feel?"

He smiled. "Like the world had stopped."

"Is it true what they say?" I ask. "That you can feel your time stop?"

He nodded. "Definitely. I knew it was her when I saw her. I heard you usually meet them when you least expect it."

"Was it like that for you?"

"Yeah." He says scratching his lip. "I knew it the time was ticking I just didn't know when and how exactly."

My name is Carson. I believe that I'm a boring person. I had friends. But my best friend was Sage. Sage and I had been friends forever. And he had just found the one he had loved on Saturday. While I still had three months.

"Well, I'll see you tomorrow." Sage smiles. "Try to feel a bit better."

"I do feel better asshole." I laugh. "I'll see you around."

Sage left me walking down the street alone. The sun was on my face and neck. I had my head down as I walked down the long street. My shoes hitting the pavements. I hear a skateboard behind me. Next thing, I was on the ground.
