Rough draft for something I wanna write

Dear Franklin Butler,

I'm a tad bit on the fence, I recently read that article in the weekly paper without any hesitation whatsoever, knowing Germany declared war on Poland has truly frightened me. I know we're miles away from the hell in Europe but I can't help but worry; What if we get involved?
      It's obvious that the states are thoroughly protected but what if the government gets involved in all this junk. I'm sorry if I'm being a scaredy-cat but it truly does worry me, my mother told me how my father lost his life forty years or so ago in World War One, and I don't want that cycle to continue.

P.S. Happy eighteenth birthday, dear friend.
