P.O.V Josh
I clamber, drunkenly, into the tent. I fall into my bed and zip up the section. I slide my hoodie off my arms and slip my jeans down my legs. I chuck my clothes to the side and lay down on the pillow. Exhaustion consumes me until I hear Jen sniffle in her sleep.
"Jen...Jen?" I whisper quietly as I wake her. She whimpers as she wakes up. I lean across the bed and turn the lamp on. "Jen? Why are you crying, Baby?" I ask as I lay back down next to her.
She wipes her eyes, they fill with tears again within seconds. "I'm sorry" Jen sighs as she wraps her arms around me and cries into my t-shirt.
"What's happened?" I slur, the feeling of tiredness washes over me.
Jennifer shakes her head. "Nothing, just a bad dream" She quickly replies. I lean backwards to turn the lamp off. As I switch it off, I peel Jennifer off me so I can lay down and have her rest on my chest. She kisses my cheek and positions her head on my chest. I close my eyes and drift off into a deep sleep.
I wake up at the sound of somene outside the tent. Jennifer is underneath my arm and sleeping happily. I sigh and rub my eyes, trying to get rid of the blurs I can see. As I roll over to grab my hoodie, I realise how drunk I really was last night. I roll back and close my eyes, trying to get rid of the pain in my head. As if on queue, Jennifer begins to fidget. At least she'll be able to look after me today!
"Josh, are you awake?" I hear her whisper. I nod and tap my head. "Headache?" She yawns. I nod again in reply. "You drunk way too much, Josh" Jennifer says a bit too loudly.
I roll over in her direction and lean in, estimating where her lips are. As if I had memorised her face, I kiss her bang on the lips. I silently cheer and she kisses me back. I pull away and open my eyes to see her beauty. Her eyes are red and patchy, must be a side effect of the drink.
I frown. "Did you drink something different to usual last night?" I ask I brush the loose hair out of her face.
Jen's smile vanishes and it turns to a confused teeth showing look. "No, why?" She questions.
"No reason, just wondering" I smile, I don't want to make her feel insecure. "Should we see if anyone else is awake, babe?" I wonder as I sit up to stretch my tight body. Jen follows me out of the tent. Max, Nick and Kelsey are awake and sitting around the small, burning fire. Kelsey is sitting on Nicks lap and Max is just staring at the fire sadly. Alcohol clearly doesn't agree with people... I think as Jen directs me to two seats opposite Max, but close to the fire.
I sigh and scratch my head uncomfortably. "Whats wrong with everyone today then? Everyone voiceless or something?" I laugh. Max doesn't budge but Nick puts his hand up.
"Oh yeah, Nick lost his voice last night when all you boys were shouting and screaming too loudly" Kelsey laughs as she kisses Nick's cheek.
He smiles in return so I look over at Max. "Whats the matter with you?" I tease with a hint of sarcasm in my voice. Max looks up and storms out of his seat angrily. He marches away, towards the woods area. I frown and look over at Jen. "Go on" I sigh. Jen jumps out her seat and runs after Max.

P.O.V Jen
I grab Max's arm and tug him back before he gets any further into the woods. He sighs and rubs arm where my grip was. I mimic his sigh and collect myself before coming to a solution.
"Look, Max, you need to try harder than that. Josh is gong to find out! I don't want him to know about this and your making it really obvious!" I rant as I pace in front of him, slapping my hands against my thighs in anger.
Max rolls his eyes and folds his arms across his chest. "I'm trying, Jen. I just cant forget it" Max whines.
I drop my arms and grab hold of his shoulders. "Josh cant find out, Max. Your like my brother as well, its weird Max and I don't want our friendship to turn out weird because of a stupid kiss" I argue back.
Max sighs and lets his shoulder fall in defeat. "Jen... I've always wanted to do that though. You don't understand" He whispers.
I shake my head in disapproval. "Stop it! Just stop! Your going to make this whole thing sound so much more than it really is. Please, Max, just act like nothing happened. I cant have Josh find out! I love him and it was a stupid, drunken mistake. I'm sorry that it meant something to you because I didn't feel anything but humiliation, Max" I whisper angrily back. I feel guilty for putting the poor boy down, but I cant have him and his feelings ruining my relationship. "I love you Max, but nothing more than a brother" I sigh as I walk away in guilt and anger. Why wont he just do this one favour for me?
I trek through the trees and finally make it back to Josh's side. He looks concerned but I smile trying to replace his suspicion with comfort. He smiles back happily and taps on the seat next to him for me to sit down. I do as he says and sit down next to him.
After a couple of minutes, Max returns with a fake smile on his face. He, surprisingly, joins in with the conversations and looks happy for the rest of the morning. Liam emerges from his tent with Charlotte and I instantly can tell they have been up to no good with the smirk on his face and the way Charlotte is acting around him.
"It was a shame Emily couldn't make it" I point out to Liam as we all trek through the woods, on a small adventure that the owner of the field sets for all campers. Josh and Nick are ahead and directing the group while the rest of us drop back. I'm alone with Liam at the back and realise that there was a point in my life where I couldn't even walk past the boy without being embarrassed, but now I'm talking to him and he is my friend. Life is so weird.
Liam sighs and scratches his chin awkwardly. "You cant tell her about me and Charlie... I didn't mean to, I was drunk" Liam defends himself.
I would usually answer with something like 'Alcohol isn't an excuse for irresponsible behaviour'. But, after being irresponsible myself while under the influence of alcohol, I cant exactly say anything back. Its annoying, but I'm no hypocrite.
"Okay, my lips are sealed" I say simply as the group stops when we think we found the 'treasure'. Josh and Nick dig up the dirt in the ground, before they lift a small treasure chest from the ground. It is literally the size of my palm.
"Is that it?" Kelsey questions sarcastically.
Nick open's the chest and his eyes widen in shock. "Guys? We have... Oh my God... We have coupons!" Nick laughs. Everyone lets out groans as we all realise that the prize is absolute crap. "We get a free pizza though" He laughs as he holds up the coupons for everyone to see.
"I cant believe this" Charlie mutters under her breath. She walks away in a huff so we all follow uncomfortably.
The whole hour back consisted of Josh and Nick racing to see who was the fastest. Being Josh's girlfriend was hard when he lost the races by a mile to Nick. I had to pretend he won and everyone was seeing things wrong, but it's so clear that Nick won. He is so fast. I mean Josh is fast, but Nick is like super fast.
Finally, we make it back to the campsite. Our fire is almost out, so luckily we made it back in time. Liam and Josh start adding to the fire. Nick goes to get some beer from the local shop, hoping he'd be allowed to buy it since he is underage. Sadly, Josh assigns myself and Max the job of getting the beans and egg cooked. It starts off quiet, but when I drop a plate, we both cant help the laughter.
"Your so clumsy, Jen" He laughs.
I sigh and pick up the remainder of the china that is now on the grass. "We're a plate short now" I whine. "I'll have to share with Josh" I laugh.
Max stops laughing and carries on stirring the beans that's hovering over the now blazing fire. "How long does it take for these to cook?" He says grumpily.
I sigh and edge towards the pan to see how the beans are looking. "Id say another minute or two. It shouldn't take too long" I smile, trying to ease the tension.
"Okay" Max says bluntly.
I never thought I'd ever want this trip to be over, but all I want to do is go home and snuggle up to my Joshy and to be alone. Max needs to cheer up or I'm going home early. I wont allow him to make the whole group feel awkward, it isn't fair on everyone else.
