Everything Has Changed (sequel to I knew you)

Chapter 7

*LILY'S POV*

I wake up and look over at the clock. I groan once I see that its only 8am because I usually sleep in until 11am but if I happen to wake up there is no way im going back to sleep. I grab my phone from the table next to my bed and go through all of my social media sites as I'm on twitter, I notice I have a lot of notifications. I used to get a lot of notifications when I was dating Wes, but after we broke up they seemed to die down. I go through my mentions and hit something that catches my eye. Its a picture of me and Wes on the beach the night he went to the hospital. I didnt even know anyone was there.

A banner comes down from the top of my phone indicating that I got a text messeage. Its from Wes.

<WES>

Hey, you're probably still sleeping but I wanted to know if you wanted to go to the beach today. Don't worry its not a date... unless you want it to be ;) haha.

I love that his flirtatious ways haven't changed, even though it means nothing. But I still dont think going to the beach together is a good idea.

<ME>

Idk...

It says that he read it almost seconds after I sent it.

<WES>

Wow I'm suprised you're awake I remeber you could sleep through World War 1! And it isn't gonna be just us, Keaton's coming to and you could bring Brian and your other friends.

Well I guess theres no harm if it isn't just us two.

<ME>

K :) see you there at 12!

I call Brian first to see if he can come.

"Hey babe."

My heart flutters but theres something uneasy about his voice.

"Hey, are you alright? If your busy I can just call back later..."

"No im fine, whats up?"

"I wanted to see if you were busy today and if not do you want to go to the beach?"

The other end is silent for almost a minute.

"Bri?" I finally say.

"Uh I'm sorry babe, I don't think I can go, its just family stuff, maybe next time."

His answer sounds rushed and almost panicked.

"Alright well you sound busy so I'm gonna go."

"Love you Lily." he says.

before I could say anyhting back he hangs up the phone. I know something was wrong with him but I didn't want to push it because usually when something's up with Brian its never that big of a deal.

I called Ange and she said she could come but Sam and her were in a fight so he couldn't come. Its just Me, Ange, Keats, and Wes going to the beach, this should be fun.

*WES' POV*

"Dude, guess what!" I say to Keaton who is sitting one the couch watching TV.

"Huh." he mumbles.

I take the remote to the TV and turn it off so he would pay attention to me.

"Just listen to me ok?" he crosses his arms over his chest.

"I asked Lily to go to the beach and she said yes."

"Great now let me watch TV." he tires to grab the remote but I put it down my pants.

"Ew I'm never touching that again." he slumps back onto the couch.

"Would you just let me finish. You're going to."

"What! No! We just got home I'm sitting in this apartment until I have to leave, plus I don't feel like getting mobbed at the beach."

"Please. Please. Please." I beg.

He looks at me.

"You really love her huh?" I nod my head up and down in response.

He sighs, "Fine."

"Thank you!" I scream as I tackle him.

"Ok, ok. Now get off before you crush me to death."

•AT THE BEACH•

Me and Keaton go to the part of the beach that's almost always empty and when we get there sure enough there's nobody to be seen. I text Lily telling her where we were, but before I could hit send someone bangs on the window scaring the shit out if me. Then I notice it's Lily and her friend Angelina.

I get out of the car and I stand in front of her towering over her.

"Awww did I scare Little Wessypoo." she pinches my cheek.

"Maybe but your going to regret it." I smirk.

I pick her up and throw her over my shoulder running her over toward the ocean.

"Wes! No! Wait!" she yells hitting my back.

"Wesley Trent Stromberg. Put. Me. Down!"

I laugh, "Ok if you insist." I drop her right into the water running back to the car.

"You are so friggin lucky I brought extra clothes!" she yells. I get to the car and Keaton is already heading to the beach. Angelina is getting her stuff out of Lily's car when she drops her towel on the ground. I pick it up and hand it to her. I hear her give me a quiet thanks.

"I'm Wes." I say holding out my hand.

"I know." she rolls her eyes rejecting my hand shake.

"Ok then." I walk away but then she grabs my arm.

"Listen I know what your trying to do but you should stop because she is happy and Brian is good for her so please if you really love her, let her be happy." then she walks away.

She's right. God dammit why did I do this. She told me she's never been happier then she is now why can't I just let her be happy. Maybe it's because I'm not happy. But if sacrificing my happiness means she's happy then that's what I have to do.

I get into my car and drive back home. I feel kind of bad that I didn't say I was leaving but I need to remove myself from her life as soon as possible.

When Keaton gets home he looks pissed.

"Why the fuck did you leave!?" he yells.

"I had to." I stare at my phone.

"Shut up and give me a real answer."

"I'm not fucking good for her Keaton! You know that I know that she knows that, hell even fucking Angelina knows that!"

"What do you mean Angelina?"

"Nothing okay, let's just drop it." I sigh.

Keaton walks to his room but stops before going in, "You know you made a real dick move. I haven't seen her laugh like that in awhile and when she found out you left-" he pauses, "I could tell she was upset no matter how hard she tried to hide it."

And with that he went into his room slamming the door shut behind him.
