HOW DO I UNLOVE YOU?
Give me an hour
Wait, a minute instead
Or just give me a second,
Infinite seconds to unloved you.
I will unloved you tomorrow
For tomorrow is unlimited, endless
When the dog meowed and the cat bark
I will unloved you until there are fishes in the sky
Number the sand
Count the stars at night
Let the moon and sun eyed each other,
Then you will be unloved
Make the lion befriend the mouse
Then kindly let Jupiter sit beside earth
Catch every raindrop that falls
Maybe then, I will unloved you.
Wake me up if you have crossed Sahara
Or passed by the rampant Nile
Let me know when the pigs fly
With the tooth fairy
Together they promised to paint the sky.
Did the camel pass through the needle's eye?
Did Mr. Tortoise win the race?
Does the rainbow stay in the sky
Like a friend when everything flies?
How will I unloved you?
From the heavens to the earth
Through heights and depths
I cannot find the ways.
FATHER I AM NO LONGER WORTHY TO BE CALLED YOUR SON
I have gone astray
I have travelled miles away
Your wealth I have gotten
Your kingdom I have forsaken
Father, I am no longer worthy to be called your son
I cared for nothing
I have everything
Money, friends, time, reckless living
So I thought, I'll just keep on squandering
Father, I am no longer worthy to be called your son
Time has come
I woke up and everything's gone
What have I done?
How far I've gone?
Father, I am no longer worthy to be called your son
Now, there's one thing in my mind
To find my way back to the one I have left behind, "Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you.
I am no longer worthy to be called your son." Hurt, wounded, I am filled with regrets
But my Father runs, threw His arms, and filled me with kisses
"Father, your compassion and love I do not deserve, like your hired servants, I am willing to serve." But his grace
His grace left me astounded
Who am I that you should celebrate?
My coming back you hardly wait!
I am a sinner who loved the world
But you're a father whose love is beyond great
It is your grace that tells me all along, "This world will abandon you, but remember to whom you belong."
