Pickles. How are they made? It all starts on a cucumber plant. It has been pollinated. It then grows a cucumber. The cucumber is then harvested, and then put into a brine of vinegar and salt, then gets preserved and fermented. After a couple of weeks, it is the. Taken out, bottled, and shipped to stores for you. So when you are getting a jar of pickles, you are actually eating a fermented cucumber. But don't worry, even though it has been aged, it is completely safe to eat.
