They all rode to New Jersey in a truck. Steve drove, Natasha was in the passenger seat, and Y/N was in the back.
"Where did Captain and Lady America learn how to steal a car?" Natasha asked.
"Nazi Germany," Y/N answered.
"And we're borrowing. Take your feet off the dash," Steve told her.
Natasha obeyed and said, "Alright, I have a question for you, oh, which you do not have to answer. I feel like if you don't answer it though, you're kind of answering it, you know?"
"What?" Steve asked.
"Was that your first kiss since 1945?" Natasha wondered.
"That bad, huh?" Steve responded.
"I didn't say that," Natasha pointed out.
"Well, it kind of sounds like that's what you're saying," Y/N replied.
"No, I didn't. I just wondered how much practice he's had," Natasha explained.
"You don't need practice," Steve replied.
"Everybody needs practice," Natasha said.
"I didn't have practice when I had mine and it was really good," Y/N pointed out.
"Well, you're not awkward about it like your brother," Natasha said.
"True," Y/N agreed.
"I'm still here," Steve told them then answered, "It was not my first kiss since 1945. I'm ninety-five, I'm not dead."
"Nobody special, though?" Natasha asked.
The siblings chuckled and he said, "Believe it or not, it's kind of hard to find someone with shared life experience."
"Well, that's alright, you just make something up," Natasha told him.
"What, like you?" Steve pointed out.
"I don't know. The truth is a matter of circumstances, it's not all things to all people all the time. And neither am I," Natasha explained.
"That's a tough way to live," Y/N said.
"It's a good way not to die, though," Natasha pointed out.
"You know, it's kind of hard to trust someone when you don't know who that someone really is," Steve remarked as Y/N nodded.
"Yeah. Who do you two want me to be?" Natasha wondered.
"How about a friend?" Y/N wondered.
"That sounds good," Steve agreed.
Natasha laughed softly in response.
"Well, there's a chance you two might be in the wrong business," she told them.
That's when they pulled up to an abandoned military base where the signal led them to.
