Bucky, in regular clothes, went in the Smithsonian and went to the Captain America exhibit. He saw the display about himself and read it. Once done and the people were clearing out more, he felt a familiar presence behind him.

"I told you not to look for me," he said.

"You think that was going to stop me?" Y/N asked.

He turned around to see her.

(A/N Your outfit above but add the splint on whichever hand you don't write with.)

She walked toward and stood beside him.

"I remember coming here for the first time. When I saw your picture, I cried. I immediately remembered when you fell from the train," Y/N told him.

"We had just told each other how we felt. We were together. Then I did something stupid, which made you suffer," Bucky finished.

"It wasn't stupid. You were trying to take out the enemy like Steve and I were. When I saw you fall, I felt like a piece of me was gone. It was then that I realized that I didn't just have a crush on you; I was in love with you," she confessed.

He smiled as he placed his metal hand in hers and said, "When I saw you struggling to get up and I protected you, I realized I was in love with you."

She smiled as a tear went down her cheek. Bucky got her to face him and gently wiped it away with his flesh hand. They looked into each other's eyes and started leaning in. They kissed for a while until they needed air.

"Do you really have to go?" she asked.

"Yeah. I don't want to leave you, but I feel it's for the best if I do. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if you got hurt," he answered.

"Please let me come with you. I know you say it's a risk, but isn't that what love is? Taking risks for the ones we love? I know you won't hurt me and I trust you wholeheartedly," Y/N explained.

Bucky sighed and commented, "You really are stubborn. But I can't let you do that. I don't trust myself. I'm sorry."

He started walking away until she stopped him. She kissed him again for a brief moment.

"You know that I will always look for you, right?" Y/N pointed out.

"I know. You won't listen to me," Bucky said.

"You're right. I won't. I'm listening to my heart and it's telling me to be with you," she replied.

"I want to be with you too, but you'll be putting yourself in danger," he said.

"What else is new?" Y/N smirked.

Bucky smiled and kissed her one last time before leaving the Smithsonian. Y/N knew that finding him wouldn't be easy, but her relationship with him wasn't either. And she would fight to make sure that they would be together.
