Part v

It was the first day back to school after our winter break. Jason had looked after me for the weekend because my parents were still away and Kim bailed on me, no surprise there. We were sitting in Biology, about to start a particle when Jason put his hand on mine to grab my attention, " Hey, so I've been thinking, " he said. I pulled my had out from under his so as not to give anyone something to look at, " About what," I asked.
" I think I'm going to break up with Taylor " he answered. I dropped the test tube in my hand, " You break it, you bought it, miss Scott " said the teacher with out even the slightest flinch at the sound of the glass breaking.
" Yes, sir. I'm very sorry " I said as I bent down to clean the mess I had made.
Before getting up, I glanced over at Taylor and Kim's station. They weren't even working, they were looking at something on Kim's phone.
" I'm just not into her anymore, I'm into you " Jason looked right into my soul when I got up, " Jason, you can't do that." I said.
" Why not? It's not like I love her. In fact she's really irritating. If she doesn't make me happy, then why can't I end it?" He asked. I was momentarily speechless, " If you break up with her, it will look super suspicious " I said. It was a terrible answer but I didn't have anything else, " Jason, you deserve to be happy but you can't break thing offs with Taylor because of me " I continued
" But what if what makes me happy, is you? Because it is " he confessed. The bell rang before I could answer. Taylor came to our station and swooped him up before I could even say I'd talk to him later.

I though about what Jason said for all of next period. I knew how I felt about him but I wasn't sure I should let him know just yet, especially since I have been hurt by him before. The next time I saw him was at lunch. I didn't really get to say much to him since Kim and Taylor were there too. The topic of conversation was about the upcoming dance, " Babe, I can not wait for the dance, " stated Taylor, " obviously we're going together but I though we should make it a group thing. " she looked at Kim and I.
" A triple date," exclaimed Kim
" Exactly. You so get me" said Taylor as she did a weird finger high five thing with Kim, " I already have a few guys in mind for the two of you. " she said as she pulled a book out of her bag.
" Uh, Taylor. Before you make any big plans, I really have to talk to you " said Jason. I looked up at him hoping he would look at me, but he didn't. He was determined to talk to Taylor.
" Yeah sure babe, we can talk later." Said Taylor. I breathed a sigh of relief. She had already fallen into the never ending discussion about dates with Kim. The bell rang and while Kim and Taylour stood up absentmindedly to go to Economics, I grabbed Jason's arm, " were you really just going to break up with her there and then? Just like that?" I asked as we walked in the opposite direction to our Accounting class.
"Yeah, I meant what I said earlier" he replied. I didn't say anything, instead I took my seat at the back of the class while he sat down in his at the front. Naturally I found it extremely hard to focus during the lesson. I kept daydreaming about when he took care of me after my ice skating accident, and how our second first kiss on top of the Ferris wheel was unforgettable and frankly much better than our first kiss. That's when the idea hit me right in the face. It was so obvious, I can't believe I didn't think of it earlier. Just then My phone vibrated in my pocket. I took it out after making sure the teacher was kept occupied by another student.
"Need a ride home?" I looked up and I could see Jason smiling at me from the front of the class, "That would be great x" I replied. I put my phone back in my pocket and actually started doing some work. The bell rang and everyone got up. I walked out the class as I swung my bag over my shoulder, Jason was waiting for me at the door. "Listen, I had an idea. About Taylour, you don't have to break up with her" I spoke as softly as I could in the halls as we walked towards the exit. He stopped dead in his tracks,"What!?" People stared,
" Will you be cool please!?" I said as I pulled him forward. He kept walking, still shocked apparently because he didn't say anything else. I couldn't risk telling him the rest of my idea after he'd drawn so much attention to us. As we left the school and started walking towards his car, I saw Kim and Taylour. I let go of Jason and he looked up to see Taylour waving us over, "Hey baby" she leaned in to kiss him. She wrapped her arms around his neck while he kept his hands on his back pack straps, "hey" he said as she let go. She looked disappointed by the kiss, after all it was only a peck. She looked at Jason as if waiting for an explanation. He looked at me, then back at Taylor, "Sorry, it's been a long day"
"Oh, in that case, I know what could make you feel better" she started drawing circles with her finger on his chest. "But unfortunately I can't. Kim and I were supposed to get started on our Economics project over the break and we completely forgot."
"Silly us right?" Kim asked with a laugh.
"Totally! Anyway, we thought that maybe you could take us to get something to eat before we go back to my place and get started?" Taylour was still clung to Jason, "Actually, I was just about to give Sophie a ride home" all eyes were on me," I mean, I could eat. I am kind of hungry" I said as I shrugged
" Perfect!" Said Taylour as she got into Jason's car.
