Rise

*Alexander P.O.V*

            "Alex wake up!" I rolled over and chucked a pillow to my mum. "Alexander Rivers you better get your lazy butt out of this house and to school before you be late!" I groaned and got up.  Why must she be so naggy? I showered and put on some jeans and a clean shirt. I ran downstairs grabbed an apple and put on my vans. "Bye mom," I called out to her.

*At Ridgeway High*

             "Hey man! Did you catch the game yesterday? " I bro hugged him and we started talking about the game last night. "Whoa guys. Hot chick 3oc'lock," I turned and saw a really cute girl. The other guys were practically drooling over her. I rolled my eyes. Yea she is cute but I don't flirt with every girl I see.  "See ya guys later," I said and went to my locker.

               I walked down the hall to my locker. I kept getting stares amd girls flirty talk. I don't get why they are so into me. I got to my locker and got out my French books. I closed my locker to see the cute girl in the locker next to me. She must have seen me jump because she turned around and asked if I was okay. Man she was cute. "Hey, I'm Alexander Rivers. But you can call me Alex," I said smiling. "Hailey Summers. I'm new around here," she answered nervously.  "Oh really? Well. Welcome to Ridgeway. Trust me you're gonna have lots of fun here," I said enthusiasticly. She giggled amd nodded. "I should get to class now. I'll see you around?" I asked taking my book. "Yea sure," she smiled. I was happy the whole way to class. And even happier when we were in the same French class.

*Hailey P.O.V*

                "I should get to class now. I'll see you around?" he asked. "Yea sure, " I said without thinking. Stupid. Hailey how could you say that? You cannot fall for anyone. Remember what happened before? I got my stuff amd went to French class. Let's see. Class 48D. Mrs Francine. I entered and my eyes immediately spotted Alex. Great. It's not that I don't like him. It's just I can't fall for anyone right now.

              "Everyone we have a new student with us today. Here name is Hailey Summers," Mrs Francine said after assigning me a seat and guess what? I'm beside Alex. I sat down and Alex smiled at me. I smiled back. Hey I wasn't going to be rude to him. I wrote down notes and I kept thinking of the past and what I promised.  I can't tell anyone or make anyone suspicious. I might get caught and no one will be able to save me after that.

            I have some explaining to do? Well I'm a vampire. Not like a pureblood I'm one of the first vampires. You see my mom is human and my dad is a vampire. I was told not to tell anyone about our race. 

              My parents wanted me to have a normal life so they sent me to schools. That's right schoolS. Plural. Meaning I moved a lot. The school I was with some people caught on and some were getting out of hand. I love my family and I will do anything to protect them. So I will never ever break that promise.

  

              Part of that promise was to live forever single. I get that and I understood it. But Alex seemed different. He's popular but he is really sweet and the opposite of snoobish. I know I just met him for a while but one of the pros of being a pureblood is I can read people. When I read Alex he was different. A good different.  But I had to stay away from him. It's for my own good.
