It's Time to Believe

A few days later

As you sleep, the doctor comes back in to check on Joey. "Oh, I see she is asleep." He states. "Yeah, she must have been so worried." The doctor smiles at your sleeping form. "I have to say Mr. Drew, your girl there sure is a feisty one. Wouldn't let us take you into the ambulance at first." He says, rubbing the back of his head nervously. Joey's shocked, but then smiles down at you. "I can't believe what she had to go through during those moments. She usually isn't aggressive at all towards anyone, but that's my Jill, always full of surprises." His expression turns serious. "Will my condition stop my from working at my job in anyway?" He asks the doctor. "Well, no. If you want, the one and only way you'd be able to work there is if you were in a wheelchair while you worked." Joey nods, "If that's what it takes, then I'll do it for her. My devil darling." "I heard her call you her "charming devil" why do you both use devil as a name for each other." Joey smiles, "Ya see, I work at Silly Vision Studios, we both love a character my partner created Bendy the Dancing Demon. She loved it so much, me and her gave each other cute nicknames. It was supposed to be a little thing that wouldn't last, but well it just stuck I suppose." He says. The doctor nods in understanding, and proceeds with the checkup, careful of waking you up. He leaves the both of you alone again, Joey listens to you sleeping while he thinks on things.

A few Days later

You push Joey's wheelchair through the studio doors. "Honey, why is it so dark in here? Where is everyone?" The lights suddenly turn on "SURPRISE!"Everyone yells. The studio has been decorated. A banner that says "Welcome Home Joey" a cake,and a few presents. "Aw, guys you shouldn't have." He laughs "Ya almost gave me a heart attack!" You kiss the top of his head,"We wanted to surprise you." He just smiles, it's so good to see him smiling again. "Ok guys....back to work" He says. Everyone frowns and he sighs in defeat. "Ok. Ok. After we eat cake." Everyone cheers and laughs. It was a wonderful time, You look around seeing Henry and Sammy talking to Joey..which leaves you alone with Susie. Susie...seems more off today than usual. "Hi Susie!" You say. She just turns around, back facing you. "Uh...Are you ok?" She turns to you and pulls you suddenly into another room. "No! I am NOT ok!" She looks at you with tears in her eyes. "I'm glad Joey is ok, and I enjoy this party..I just can't be around Sammy right now." "Sammy? What happened? Tell me everything." You comfort her. "I came into work a few days ago, and saw Sammy talking to another woman, apparently I didn't get the memo. Alice Angel Will now be voiced by Miss Allison Pendle. A part of me died that day Jill!" You were shocked, voicing Alice was Susie's dream and that womanizing Lawrence took it away. You get up and start to head towards the door. "Jill? Jill wait! Jill no!" "Jill yes, Susie. You need an answer from him, and I am going to make him tell you why he did that." She grabs your arm. "Please not right now, Joey just got back. He doesn't need the stress. Also, I will deal with him myself, just not right now ok?" She pleaded. "Oh alright. As your friend I won't say anything." She pulls you into a hug "Thank you Jill." You both head back to the party, and see them around the table with cake. "There you are Jill! Wonderin' where ya both went off to." Henry says. You and Susie laugh "Don't worry Henry." Susie says "Yeah, we were just having a little girl talk is all." You proceed to walk over to Joey and give him a little kiss on the cheek as he handed you a piece of cake. "Aw Joey, you didn't have to cut cake for everyone." "It's ok darlin' it's the least I could do. Sammy and Henry say that it was you who came up with the idea." You blush and smile. Joey goes and gives everyone a piece of cake and you all continue talking and having a good time. You smile to yourself, seeing Joey so happy. After so many weeks of pain and sadness from the accident, seeing his smile and joking nature just like before makes a smile form on your face. You think to yourself "Even if it's just for now, I am glad he's happy. I just hope that this moment lasts forever."
