I May Not Know Much

It was only supposed to be a normal day. Waking up in my bedroom and then going to college, only of course everything had changed. My dad had recently gone somewhere for a very long time..... That's a story for another time though.

Anyway, my mom and me had had to move house from Bristol to London. London is way busier than Bristol which is good in a way because nobody noticed me; however I had a bad feeling that i'd get squashed a couple of times.

I woke up in my new bedroom, the smell of bacon wafting towards me. I got up and got dressed, putting on my comfy black skinny jeans, red converse and my white t-shirt that has 'I ❤️ Bands' on the back. I greeted my mom with a huge smile on my face forced through pain. She handed me a bacon sandwich and said 'Here's £100, go and spend it on bits for your room to make it pretty. Don't worry I don't expect any change', then she laughed. I forced another smile on my face and thanked her appreciatively.

When I had finished eating I trudged upstairs and fixed my thick brown hair into a waterfall braid. After applying a coat of mascara and a little bit of powder I stared at myself in the mirror. I have blue eyes, a small nose, rosy cheeks, thin lips and long thick mousy hair. I sighed as I noticed that there was another spot appearing near my nose. I call them stress spots as I tend to get them when I'm stressed. If there is one thing that annoys me more than the fact that crisp packets have more air in them than actual crisps is stress spots.

I grabbed my beige satchel shoulder bag that I got for my 17th birthday and got a taxi into central London. It was quite cheap considering the journey was twenty minutes long. I spent around four hours shopping until I had finally finished. It had started to rain and I hadn't bought my umbrella with me so I ran into the nearest shop, Starbucks. Panting, I sat down and looked in my bags to refresh my memory of what I had bought. I had purchased two tins of sky blue paint with one tin of white paint (it was also a 3 for 2 offer to my delight) from B&Q; I picked up a light blue and baby pink birds duvet set along with two rose pink flower cushions, both of which from Primark; the ceiling in my room was already white and there were cream wooden floor boards so I needn't have done anything about them; I also managed to pick up a gorgeous heart shaped baby blue fluffy rug with fuchsia stitching around the edges for only £20 in the NEXT sale and finally I got some dainty powdered blue fairy lights from Harrods which were also in the sale at £14.99.

I sat there smiling to myself satisfied with my bargains that I had picked up. I was determined to make my room special and unique so I took out my little notebook and started sketching out my fabulous new room. I figured I would need to save up for a few essential furniture items such as a desk and chair. I already had a white wardrobe which, with left over paint, I could easily sort out if need be.

I decided I would treat myself to my favourite coffee after all my hard work and sketching so I went up to the counter and asked for my favourite coffee of all time, a chocolate chip banana split frappè. This was a secret recipe that I thought no one else ever knew about but next to me was a boy about my age with curly brown hair, hazelnut eyes and beautiful cheekbones who ordered the exact same coffee as me. At first I amazed but then I thought he probably just over heard me ordering and copied, after closer inspection however it turns out he had earphones in and you could faintly hear the music if you listened carefully.

I blushed thinking about how strange it was that he had heard of this secret coffee too. We then received our coffees at the same time at which point he took his earphones out. Just as I turned around to go and sit back down, I felt a tap on my shoulder which sent shivers down my spine. The boy said to me 'Hi i'm George, I noticed that we ordered the same coffee, don't worry i'm not a weirdo I only noticed as the chocolate chip banana split frappè has a very distinctive smell', I giggled and George smiled, he has the most heart melting yet mysterious smile I had ever seen.
