Mares
Mares are a female horse or pony. They are called fillies when under the age of four. Mares cannot be gelded, but very rarely they are sterile. Mares should not be bred til age 5.

Jennies
Jennies are not horses, but instead donkies. Jenny is the term for female donkey. They are also called fillies under the age of four. There also not gelded ever and should not be ridden until four or bred til five.

Fillies + Yearlings
Fillies are female horses or donkies. They are called this between newborns and age three or four. Yearlings can be a colt or filly. They are called Yearlings when they turn one.
