I smile brightly as I carry my five suitcases up the front steps of my new dorm. Well, first dorm. I’m a freshman at Penn State University and couldn’t be happier. I’m worried, though- word is I’m rooming with the biggest jock on campus. This should be interesting. I mean, look at me. I’m five feet and nine inches of pure epicosity (yes, that’s a word) and he’s a jock. I heard he’s already a starter on the school’s football team as a freshman, which is pretty much unheard of. We’re clearly from two different worlds.

“Hey, let me help you with that,” A silky smooth voice says from behind me. I turn and see a pair of bright green eyes and a mop of curly brown hair.

“Thanks,” I say, letting him take one of my bags.

“What’s your name?” The boy asks, walking with me through the doors of the dormitory.

“Louis Tomlinson,” I smile. “You?”

“Harry Styles,” He smiles back. “I would shake your hand but I’m carrying your bag so…yeah, ha-ha.”

“You in this dorm?” I ask dumbly. Of course he is.

“Yeah,” He laughs. “And I’m guessing you are too.”

“Yep,” I smile. “What floor are you on?”

“Three,” He answers, pressing the button for the elevator.

“Me too,” I step onto the elevator with him and he presses the button for our floor. “Do you have a roommate or…?”

“Nah, I’m by myself,” He nods. “I did have a roommate but I met him yesterday and let’s just say I had him transferred out.”

“Why?”

“He smokes,” Harry answers. “I can’t stand the smell. He didn’t write down that he smokes on the application because he didn’t want his parents to find out or something dumb like that.”

“Wow,” I laugh as the elevator doors open. “So, which dorm room is yours?”

“Fifteen,” He answers.

“I’m sixteen,” I say, relieved. At least I won’t have to go far to see this charming young boy.

“You’re rooming with Payne,” Harry whistles. “Good luck, man.”

“What do you mean?” I ask, tilting my head sideways. We stop just outside my dorm room door.  Harry drops my bags and I do the same.

“He’s really serious about his schooling,” Harry says. “He’s like crazy smart, but also super athletic and built. Like, muscle man built. You seem like a really fun, party type guy and he’s the complete opposite of that.”

"Why is he so serious?"

"He's gay," Harry responds. "And he went through this really bad breakup junior year. Since then he's been all scary and serious."

“How do you know so much about him?” I ask.

“He and I went to the same high school,” Harry answers. “We were never the best of friends. I don’t know if you’ve figured it out or not but I’m not exactly football player material,” Harry gestures to his slim body. “I’m majoring in Drama, not the NFL.”

“You’re majoring in Drama?” My face lights up. “Me too!”

“Sweet,” Harry smiles. “So just be careful about Payne. We all nicknamed him ‘Daddy’ at my old school. I’ll be in my dorm room if you want me. And don’t worry, our DA is extremely dumb. If you’ve ever seen the TV show on MTV Awkward she’s like Valerie, the guidance counselor. A total push-over. You can start rooming with me if it gets too bad.”

“I’ll keep that in mind,” I smile and shake Harry’s hand before he walks to the room next door to mine and disappears into his dorm. I take a deep breath and open the door.
