Eugene's POV

I smirked as the cashier handed her, her receipt.

She grabbed her tray and went on to find a seat. I move up the line to finally order my food.

"Can I have a Big Mac with a side of fries and a Coke?"

"Alright, coming right up."

I paid her the money and moved over to the side to give way to people whilst I wait for my food. I took my food tray and scanned for available seats. My eyes instantly dart to the corner of the restaurant where Brunette was sitting at.

I totally forgot to ask her for her name but I'll just call her Netty for now. I walked over to her with my food and smoothly asked, "Is the seat taken?"

She was munching on a bunch of fries when I was asking and she genuinely looked shocked! She shook her head in response and gestured me to seat down across from her.

I put my tray on the table and sat down afterwards. I just realised that she ordered the exact same food as I did! She sure does eat a lot, haha.

I took and handful of fries and gobbled them. down before attempting to start a conversation.

"So, what's your name?"

"Darnella," she said as we made eye contact.

"That's a beautiful name."

"Why, thank you... Eugene."

"Well, how old are you?"

"What is this? 21 questions?" she smirked.

"Haha, not really. I just wanted to get to know you better."

"I'm turning 18 next week."

"Ohh! So, you're still a minor," I winked.

"Yeah, I guess."

She was very focused on eating so I let finish her last bite of her burger and resumed the questions.

"Do you want a ride home?" I asked.

"It's alright, I'm walking."

I nodded my head. I wanted to try this new pickup line so I said it. I asked her.

"Hey, before you go, I think something's wrong with my phone."

"What happened?"

"It doesn't have your number in it," I tried to sound rather unhappy.

She rolled her eyes and took my phone that was already in my hands and typed in her number.

"Call me tonight."

She winked and did her signature walk. I drove Viola back to the house and parked her in the garage. Afterwards, I went through the door and headed straight to the East Wing.

I climbed to the second level where my bedroom was and went inside. I strolled to my bed and fell on it with my back facing the mattress and threw my wallet and keys on the floor.

I laid on my left side and checked my phone. I found her number and it was saved as Darnella. She was such a simple yet interesting girl. I opened the iMessage app and texted her a simple 'hey'. I waited for her reply for about an hour but I got nothing.

I was beginning to think that she gave me the wrong number but something in my gut told me to wait a little more.
