"This place is hell! I want to move back!" I screamed at my mom and followed her down the stairs of our new house. Every time I told her I wanted to move she just walked out of whatever room we were in. "Stop walking out on me mom! I'm not dad!" I yelled. She stopped dead in her tracks.

"Would you be quiet! James is upstairs trying to sleep and the last thing I need him to hear is-"

"Your past with dad! Oh I know. Sorry if I'm not into riding horses with the locals while you bang James in the other room!" I replied with sarcasm and ran back into my room. I shut the door and locked it. I could hear my moms loud, echoing footsteps on the wooden stairs. Creeping softly into my bed, I began to cry softly into my pillow. I was sick and tired of my mom acting like she was so happy with James. It was bullshit. Let me explain.

About two years ago my mother discovered that my father was cheating on her with a lovely, kind woman Autumn. Obviously my mother was jealous of Autumn. Who wouldn't be? She had long brown hair like mine, green eyes, and a perfect tan. She was captain of her cheer team, ASB president, and the most popular girl in her school when she was in school. Anyway, as soon as my mother found out she filed for a divorce and started online dating. That's how she met James. He was a man from Atlanta and he flew out to have dates with my mother. It kept her happy.

One day my dad asked Autumn to move in with us. That was about a year ago. I was thrilled, Autumn and I had so much in common! But my mother immediately felt trapped in her own home. She felt like she couldn't escape coming downstairs and seeing Autumn cooking breakfast in one of dad's business shirts. I wasn't an idiot. It meant they had had sex that night. Apparently Mom wasn't either and she decided she wanted to fight for full custody.

James was a successful lawyer and pinned Autumn and Dad down. Mom won the case. Originally it had only been a ploy to get revenge at my dad, but James proposed to mom and offered us both a one way ticket to Atlanta. And before I knew it I was being flown into the country side. Just perfect.

"Lani Ramona TruHart I am damn tired of fighting you! James is awake and heard the whole thing! I expect a full apology for him in the morning. In the mean time go get the mail." My mother hissed through the door and turned away. My phone made a ding, meaning I got a new text. I squealed in excitement at who it was.

Autumn- Hey babe! Hows studs in GeorgNO!

Me- 😂 Boring! I've been here for a whole weeks and I haven't met a single person! Mom is being a bitch about James 😒

Autumn- So go out and meet! Met any cute boys?

Me- 😂 Isn't that a joke. No one here is cute. They're all probably over done cowboys. I bet not a single one of them has heard about League of Legends.

Autumn- You never know. Try talking to cute football players. It's what I did and met you dad :)

Gross. Gag me with a stick. She did not just say that. But it amazed me how autumn kept me positive, a task my mother was never up for.

Me-Your right! Crap! I forgot to grab the mail. Tell dad I said hi and I love him! And I'll keep you updated!

Autumn- Good! I'll tell you what he says. And I expect it ;) especially if you meet a cute boy.

I turned off my phone and looked at my balcony. It had a rose trellis down it and was an easy way to leave the house without having to go down stairs and face James and Mom. I put on my flip flops and climbed down the trellis slowly. I fell to the ground on my face. Ouch.

"Need some help up? You seem kinda stuck in the mud." I heard a chuckle. That was so not funny. I looked up and saw a dark blonde hair boy with blue eyes. He had a slight smirk on his face. I stood up and dusted off my knees.

"No. I just need to learn how to get the hang of this. Which I will. And corny jokes won't help." I fake glared at him and he sighed with a smirk and looked down.

"Are you new here?" He questioned looking slightly

at my chest. I crossed my arms and nodded. my head. "Cool. My names Sam. Sam Elica. There's a big party tonight at my friend Gray house. Since were considered popular you might wanna come as my date. Give me your phone." Sam talked quickly and grabbed my iPhone from my hands. Crap. I knew I should've put a passcode on it. He put his number in and handed me back the phone.

"I'm Lani. And I may or may not show up to that party. It depends on my busy schedule." I said off puttingly.

"Mhhhmm. Alright. I'll text you the details cutie." He pinched my cheek and turned around. I stumbled hazily back up the rose trellis and waited for my text. Maybe I was too forward with him? No guy has ever made me fall that fast. He was popular too? I don't know why I liked him so much I just found him totally irresistible-DING. That had to be Sam!

Sam- Hey Lani. Count three houses to your right and that big mansion is my friends Chandlers house. Even though you looked adorable in your Jammie's wear something more appropriate. Be there at 8 😘

Oh I could not wait for this party.
