Monday.

Alyssa opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling.

She threw her pillow towards to the other side of the room, letting out a scream.

Alyssa threw her clothes over her and stumbled into the bathroom and started plastering water all over her face.

The mirror showed a fragile child, dressed wrong and living wrong.

She jumped outside afterward- sat in front of her mirror, and started putting on makeup. By a few skillful strokes, her makeup was done.

Grabbing her backpack, she ran out.

Running out, she recognized her friends grouped over the small abandoned bus stop, used approximately 60 years ago. They looked at her and waved with big swirls. Being the best girl that she was, she smiled back, throwing her arm in the air.

Linda screeched first.

"Aleeeeeeeeeeeesaaaaaaaaaaaa!" She made a long girly noise.

"Linda, please! Do you mind? I'm putting on my mascara!"

Isabel muttered, her eyes fretting. She was late and was putting on makeup on the spot.

"Oh, hey- Alyssa. You, okay?" Blake asked, remembering the memory of last Saturday- the after-homecoming dance in her place.

"Yeah, it's fine. By the way, do you wanna know what Nick West asked me yesterday?" Alyssa snickered and slightly nudged Linda, whom she knew would love to hear it. Isabel put down her makeup kit and looked at Alyssa, holding her hand.

"Come on; We'll be late. Tell us while we go!" She laughed, and the four walked towards school, laughing and chatting on the way.

When they reached school- Isabel was already laughing her head off, and Linda had to fix her makeup from the laughing tears on the way.

'Girl-talk. They get you nowhere but laughs and meaningless memes.' Alyssa murmured to herself.

The girls arrived at school and walked, more like gloated around the hallways, talking loud and at the same time scanning over the hot guys.

"Did you see Tom Tavian? His haircut makes him look like..."

"A porcupine?" The girls gossiped over all the little things they saw.

Alyssa didn't want to get into the conversation- since her flashback of Ethan stabbed her heart again.

The bell rang, and all the kids moved at once, like a game of Pacman.

"Okay, see ya girl!" Isabel called over her shoulder, and though she didn't feel like that either, she waved her hand casually.

"Bye!"

By Lunchtime, the kids sat all over the cafeteria doing their usual essay checking and chatting, etc. The girls sat at the 'alpha table' as they call it, where most top classes sit, alongside many other top class children. Blake was talking and laughing with Ryan as usual. Isabel was- pretty much doing the same thing she always does- fixing her makeup. In this craze, Alyssa talked with Linda, which seemed like the most sensible thing to do.

Not long after she started talking with Linda, Alyssa felt a familiar note of voice calling her name, as well as a hand slightly nudging her upper arm. She looked around.

"Uh, hey. It's me."

There was Nick West, with his big boys at each shoulder. His smile was unbearable.
