♛jughead♛"I don't get why I have to transfer to this landfill of preppy's." I say sternly to my father as he drives me to my new school.
He turns his head to me, trying to show sympathy. "Jug, you already went against my wishes by joining the serpents. I still want you to get a good education, help you pursue your writing career."
"I can get a good education at Southside, with my friends." I respond.
"You'll make new friends here. And let's be honest, there is no education at that damn school. It's just a drug-zone."
I chuckle. "Yeah, well, I guess you're not wrong."
"By the way, I've signed you up for tutoring." I open my mouth to start arguing but he puts his hand up. "Uh- sh. I know you're a smart kid, Jug, you just need a little help in the beginning to adapt to the way they teach here. Only a month or two, then you can quit the tutoring if your marks show that you understand everything."
I let out a sigh. "Fine."
"Betty Cooper's her name."
"Pft, is there a more preppy, perfect girl name? I don't think so."
"Be nice. She'll help you out, she's the top in her class. You could become friends with her for starters."
"Damn it, dad, you want me to hang out with a nerd?"
"Jug." he presses.
"Okay, yeah, I'll be nice." I roll my eyes and look out the window.
We pull up to the school. I'll admit, it was really nice compared to Southside High. Clean, modern.
"Alright, boy, you gonna be okay from here?"
I open the door, pulling my cross-body bag over my shoulder and stepping out.
"Always am, dad. Bye." I say with the slam of the door.
As I walk towards the school I turn around, waving goodbye to my dad as he drives away. When I reach the large front steps, I spot a girl at the top by the door who looks lost, biting her lip with books in hand as she searches the area. Maybe she's new like me?
"Hey. Are you new?" I ask as I stand in front of her.
Her lost look disappears, smiling widely. "Far from new. I was looking for you, well, I'm assuming you're Jughead Jones?" She scans my body as she says so, guessing by my leather jacket.
I raise my eyebrows, surprised that this blonde beauty was the "nerd". I was expecting someone a lot different.
"Betty Cooper." I reassure.
She smiles with a tilt of her head. "That's me! I'll be showing you around the school, no classes for you today as you settle in. After I show you where all your classes are we'll start tutoring so I can see what you know."
I can already tell what kind of person she is. Organized, smart. Not remotely close to my old friends.
"Yeah, sure. Whatever you say." I say as I trail behind her into the school.
"So, you're coming from Southside High?" she makes conversation as she looks forward. The bell rings, the halls clearing and leaving the two of us.
"Mhm."
"How was that? I've always wondered what it's like there."She still looks forward, I guess she's taking me to some kind of starting point to her tour.
