As soon as I was rounding the corner, I saw you

I smiled to you but you passed and kept on a determined face

my smile grew crooked as I looked back

the end of the staircase held a door

above in glowing red letters stated 'EXIT'

I firmly grasped onto your hand but you tried to shake it off

I quietly asked where you were going

you didn't tell the story but I couldn't believe it 

as soon as I grabbed onto you, your face softened

your face pleaded not to talk

but I couldn't help but wonder how I was going live without you

you looked at me and told me to stay here

that you'll be back soon

I trusted you, even if you're the last one to leave

I let you go somewhere

hopefully it was somewhere safe

we both knew that you didn't really belong here

you took your hands away from mine and took out something from your pocket

I looked down at the familiar candy bar and before I could look up

I heard a loud boom

the sound of the door closed as you were in a rush

running out and not looking back 

having the same clothing we were acquired to wear

my face stayed the same for the next few hours

blank and concerned

I couldn't imagine losing another 

so as long as you were out there somewhere 

that's fine

I stared at the empty bed once again 

ignoring everything else but my thoughts

memories rushing through my head as I forced them to

my lips rose and curled up when I thought about being with the boys

I wondered what they were up to

or if they were still the same

so I imagined them being with me

doing things that was typical of us 

I looked up at the door, the bright light rushing in 

I told them that you went to see a doctor of ours and that you'll be back soon

they believed me 

if only that was true
