They say that well never know what's behind all the city lights,
The apartments that you can spot illuminated in the mid of night.
Nor the stories of all the men who sleep on benches in the parks.
And the lonely women who in the street at two in the morning stark.
It's strange to think about the people awake when you are sleeping.

I've heard that we can never get to know our neighbours truly.
And the women on the bus has many secrets she hides blindly.
The old widower down the street is painfully aware of the jokes.
And the aunt who never married will always think marriage is a hokes.
Funny I think it is to be a person in the city alone walking.
