a/n dont worry kiddos bangtan is going to show up in the next couple chapters, everything up until then has kind of been setting/character stuff and all that jazz
There's some kind of unexplainable phenomenon that happens right before you wake up. It's a feeling in your subconscious, like your mind knows you're about to wake up before your body does. Yet, when you wake up, you don't know what kind of situation you're in. In my case, I always assume the worst.
When my eyes drifted open and met the back of an airplane seat, I panicked. I had no idea where I was, what I was doing, and how far away from home I was. Was I kidnapped? Who took me? What are they going to do to me? What-
My overactive thoughts ceased when I looked around at my surroundings. A sleeping Sana next to me, a drowsy Talia across the aisle, and two whispering heads near the front of the plane that I recognized as my professors. My tensed form relaxed back into my puffy coat and I released a breath of air that I didn't realize I had been holding in.
I was about to attempt to visit dreamland again when my eyes caught sight of a tall flight attendant scurrying down the aisle to the front of the plane. Frowning, I sat up in my seat and peered over the seats in front of me to look at what was worrying the panicking attendant. I watched the sweating flight attendant pick up the plane's microphone and take a deep, restoring breath before speaking.
"Ladies and gentlemen, there will be an approximately 50 minute delay to your destination due to conflicts at Incheon International Airport. We apologize for any inconveniences this delay may induce. Please enjoy the rest of your flight with us!" the attendant stated in a monotone, robot-like voice.
I groaned and rolled my eyes. I knew my reaction was irrational and childlike, but 50 minutes?! That's another 3,000 seconds that I'm not setting foot in Korea. My irritation only grew when Sana's sleeping head fell from resting against her seat to my shoulder. I spluttered and coughed when some of her medium-length light brown hair found its way into my mouth. Rolling my eyes for the nth time, I decided to let her head stay where it was while pulling my phone from my coat pocket. I scrolled mindlessly through Twitter before coming across an interesting tweet.
