It was a normal day. Well, normal as it can be, at least.

The kingdom of Arendelle, peacefully ruled by the regal and beautiful Queen Elsa with her playful and cheerful sister Princess Anna at her side, had just entered the season of blooming flowers and green pastures. The harvest for ice had increased in demand as the temperatures were getting warmer. Kristoff, a harvester himself, was beyond ecstatic. For today, however, this ecstasy had reached beyond the roof of his dainty home.

He had plans with his long-time maiden friend and lover, the princess; plans that could potentially change their lives forever.

Anna, in a very cheerful and good-natured state due to the chocolate flavored pancakes prepared for this morning's breakfast, was being dragged by her partner across the streets of the kingdom. Everyone had been a tad bit more lively than usual. The spring hype had never been so high before.

The smell of saltwater hung heavily in the humid air and despite the warmth trying to take over the mood, the noise and movement just kept everyone going. Kristoff led Anna through the village, pulling her into tunnels and passageways even she had never knew existed. That's saying a lot since Anna scouted the area as much as she could the previous year. She tried to find and walk through every nook and cranny she could possibly encounter. She felt so free. It felt great to finally be doing something without much restraint except for a corset and high-heeled shoes she was made to wear. Elsa insisted she should at least have some decency to go big on something she'd spend a lot of time doing.

"Kristoff," Anna panted, "where are we going!?"
Kristoff just kept pulling her but threw her a smile, "Come on, it's a surprise!"
They both laughed as Kristoff just ran a bit faster.

That smile. It made Anna's heart ache. How could someone so nice and adoring just end up at the doorstep of a shack owned by Oaken on a very cold and wintery night? Kristoff deserves so much better. But here he is, dragging Anna to who-knows-where, having the time of his life and in turn giving Anna the time of her life.

After a minute or two had passed, they were out of the town and into a comfortingly familiar place. This place was quite chilly, even for a Summer Solstice.

"Oh, what are we doing here?" Anna asked, a smile lingering on her face. She was still holding Kristoff's hand. He looked a bit pre-occupied. He squeezed her hand in reassurance.

"You'll see, give me a second," Kristoff requested as he took Anna's hand up to his mouth and gave it a kiss. Anna's nerves went haywire. He let go of her hand and whistled loudly.

A familiar sight of rocks moving by themselves, rolling up to them and heads popping out suddenly had Anna hit with nostalgia real hard. It made her chest tighten and her throat dry. She prevented herself from choking up a sob as they came in a circle around her and Kristoff.

Kristoff saw Anna trying not to tremble with tears so he held her close to him as they both watched the trolls start up a song. It was the same song they sung nearly two years ago, only now a bit more mellow and slow.

"So he's just a bit of a fixer-upper, he's got a couple of bugs"

Anna giggled.

"His isolation is confirmation of his desperation for human hugs"

Kristoff held Anna tighter as tears started rolling down Anna's cheeks. She was laughing already. People who might've seen her do so would have thought her mad. Crying while laughing? It was definitely a sight to see.

"He's just a bit of a fixer-upper, but we know what to do

The way to fix up this fixer-upper is to fix him up with you!"
