The sun was already shining when she woke up. She must have fallen asleep while crying because her eyes felt so heavy. She was like a slow internet connection loading when she heard and felt her tummy grumble. She never thought that all those crying were actually tiring. So she decided that it's time for breakfast. She opened her door quietly careful enough not to wake Ken up, though she knows he's not yet awake by this time, her husband's a heavy sleeper.
She tiptoed all her way down, she was very quiet. When she got to the dining area she let out a sigh of disappointment.
Oh, great. The person she was avoiding was there in front of her. She groaned inwardly. Why does he have to look so cute and handsome? She thought. Her eyes shifted to his hands, because he lowered the newspaper he was reading, and then she noticed his knuckles.
"Oh, you're up early--" He greeted her but she turned away and ran back upstairs. He can't believe what she just did. She walked out! She did actually walked out! He thought unbelievably.
"Ganun bang kasama itsura ko para mag-walk out siya? Or she's just really mad?" He whispered to himself. Few minutes have passed but there was no sign of Ana coming back so he decided to fix the plate he prepared for her, sakto namam pagtayo niya, Ana came back. She handed him a first aid kit and then went straight to the seat adjacent to his. Then he realized, she must have seen his swollen knuckles, but he thought that all it needs is ice but the he checked and saw that there were cuts on it.
"T-thank you." He said awkwardly. As an answer binigyan siya ni Ana ng matipid na ngiti.
"Ana, about last night, I-I'm sorry." He said while stammering, he's nervous. Damn, he really doesn't like it when she's mad. She's the nicest person on earth and if she gets mad at you, then you might have done something really worse. She didn't give him any answer and looked at him with emotionless eyes.
"I really am sorry. I'm sorry for shouting at you and I'm sorry for saying those words, I was just mad, I didn't mean to." He reasoned out with a pleading tone. She gave him a small smile and ate again.
"Ana, I really am sorry, why won't you talk to me?" He asked desperately, the fact that she's silent is really scaring the freaks out of him. Finally, she looked at him straight in the eyes. At last, I caught her attention. He celebrated in his thoughts.
"Your phone's ringing." She said flatly. His shoulders fell, he expected too much. Pakiramdam niya nagsabi siya ng joke na waley. He then looked at his phone beside him and immediately answered it.
"Whew!" Ana blew out a big air of relief. She can't stand talking to him right now, she's hurt because of what he said last night. Because of his apology, all that hurt flew away, and that's where she's struggling right now. He means a lot to her and it does not change the fact na asawa lang siya. She's not mad at him or anything, she just wants to show him that she's not that easy, she wants to see how far he can go just to please her, in other words, pakipot lang si Ana.
She looked at Ken who was standing outside, and she can see him clearly through the glass window. Ang gwapo niya talaga. She thought. She was still looking at him and then her heart skipped a beat when Ken looked at her direction and gave her a wink and a to-die-for smile. She looked down immediately. She just got caught, and her cheeks burned up because of embarassment.
Not long after, Ken came back to his seat.
"Mom's coming over later." He said excitedly, Ana just nodded. They ate in silence Ken gave up trying to talk to her, maybe she just needs time to cool down. When he sensed that Ana was about to stand up.
"Leave it there. You go get ready. I'll bring you to work." He said and then Ana dropped the plate maybe a little harder than normal it startled both of them. Still not recovering from the embarassment a while ago, Ana avoided his eyes and went straight to her room to get ready.
