Here I am, Luke Tills, heading to piper's knowing it's 1 week from North Ridge High School's state championship basketball game. I still always manage to make time for Piper, though knowing right about now I should be in my driveway repeatedly sending 3 pointers into the net in preparation for the upcoming game.
Thinking back many years ago to when Piper and I started dating I remember I made a promise to her that if I ever found myself in a championship game I'd play for her, and do everything I could to make her proud. I should have known better making that promise back then. All my games leading up to now have all been to make her proud and in awe of me. I realize now this is one crummy promise.
But one thing I've always loved about Pipers suburban neighborhood is that it's always peaceful and family friendly, on every street it's like its 'walk with your family day...everyday' either that or a kid on his bicycle. Kneepads, elbow pads & helmet all strapped on most likely due to a mom obsessively reading the 'Parents' magazine.
But turning into Pipers neighborhood tonight was anything but peaceful.
