Why didn't you tell me?

Chapter 7

When Fletch went to bed Jac was already asleep, he knew she needed rest as she was in pain. He couldn't help but watch her as she slept, she just looked so peaceful. God he love that women so much. He was reminded of how lucky he was to have her, which made him smile away to himself.

As Fletch climbed into bed Jac stirred next to him, she rolled over and smiled at Fletch. He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and smiled back. 'How are you feeling?' He asked softly, while kissing her forehead.

'I'm okay.' Jac whispered as she scooched closer to Fletch and nuzzled his neck. He smiled and pressed his lips to her forehead again. Jac yawned and cuddled in closer to Fletch. 'Where is Emma?' Jac asked.

'She's in with Ella, they're top and tailing, which they both seemed really exited about.' Fletch laughed. 'Evie said that you are coming round tomorrow after you've finished work, you don't have to.' Fletch spoke while playing with her hair.

Jac moved her head out of the crook of his neck so she could look at him. 'I want to though Fletch, I want to be part of their lives, and I want to be part of yours, Emma loves you and she seems to be getting on great with your lot. I wouldn't have said yes to Evie if I didn't want to, and you're working late so at least you won't have to worry about a baby sitter.' Jac smiled as she locked eyes with Fletch.

Fletch smiled back at her and gently kissed her. 'Thank you, Jac.' She smiled at him and curled back into his side. It wasn't long before they were both in a peaceful sleep.

Fletch woke up early the next morning, he rolled out of bed and made his way to the shower. It was his and Jac's first day back at work since getting together and Fletch was worried about how Jac was going to react,  if they were going to pretend nothing had happened between them or not. Either way he was happy, he knew this would be a big deal for Jac, so he wanted her to be comfortable. 

Jac woke up and rolled over to reached for Fletch, only to find he wasn't there. She decide to lay in bed for a bit longer as it was still early and she knew the kids wouldn't be up for a while. Her mind wandered and she got thinking about how much everything had changed in just a few days, and how grateful she was.

Her thought were interrupted as Fletch entered the bedroom in his towel. Jac smirked to herself.
'Morning, have you been up long?' He asked while walking over to Jac and kissing her lips gently.

'Mmm..' Jac's mind was brought back to the other morning when she had dragged Fletch into the shower.

'Erm.. No not really.' She said a little embarrassed as she caught Fletch smirking at her. Fletch chucked and kissed her again.

'How's your back this morning?' Fletch asked, concern evident in his voice. This made Jac feel safe because she knew that he cared about her wellbeing and recovery.

'It's okay. I haven't had any pain yet, which is a good sign as it's normally hurts when I wake up.' Jac smiled.

'If there is any pain at all today I want you to stop what you are going and just rest. I'm not joking Jac I hate seeing you in pain.' Fletch spoke in a serious tone. Jac's heart swelled because it showed that her really did care about her.

'Honestly Fletch, don't worry about me. I'll be fine.' Jac smiled. She knew this wasn't true but she was putting her walls back up and hiding her pain. This came so naturally to Jac that she didn't even realise that she was shutting him out, until she seen the look on his face.

'Sorry. Of course I will. I just don't want you to worry about me.'

'I know you don't Jac, but I care and I hate seeing you in pain so please.' Fletch spoke truthfully.

Jac smiled and kissed him.

'Love you.' Jac said, without really thinking about it. When Jac had realised what slipped out of her mouth she felt embarrassed. However, Fletch thought it was rather cute. Watching Jac Naylor getting embarrassed wasn't something that you got to see every day.

Fletch let out a small laugh. 'I love you too, you numpty.' He said while pulling her into a hug and kissing his way up her neck to her lips, once he finally reached her lips she smiled into the kiss and pulled him closer.
